I don't understand how Origin/EA can offer refunds for 24hrs but Steam can not.

Because "can't" and "won't" are totally different things.

Want to make print money Valve and Newell? Then make a Half-Life game. Its not rocket science.

But that's their problem - they already do that w/o any recent releases. There's no motivation or drive.

Any form of communication at all is better than going radio silent for years at a time. I think it's great they're suddenly touchy feely and admitting their problems (this and their lack of customer support), but pardon me if I'm skeptical if it actually turns into anything.

Admitting is one thing. Actually doing something about it is another.

A post on Reddit does note, however, that this is a little tricky, as it sounds like part of the checkout process asks for prior consent to waive this right to finalize your purchase, so it sounds like actually playing a game ends the ability to return it.

So, let me get this straight. You start the game, and Steam acknowledges that you did. Said game crashes and you still cannot get it working. You forfeit the chance to return it when all of your troubleshooting still doesn't work? That doesn't help that much.

Based on steam's customer support, its hardly surprisingly they'd try and weasel around it by doing this.

That's pretty cool! I have a 3D printer and it's really slow but I can print significantly larger objects with it. I know that resin isn't cheap either compared to ABS filament.

I'm excited to see new 3D printing technologies though.. There are many cool things in the works now.

I find the idea of eventually printing organs to be both crazy and exciting...I don't anticipate it expanding the lifespan by a huge amount, but even if used in limited to cases, to extend one life to a normal span? That would be awesome.

Beta's been up for awhile. Saw someone claim we get regular keys next Monday...but that doesn't promise we're playing before the 26th.

You need to realize that to some people, 225$ isn't that much. It's all relative to income and spending. Some people got the money.. I get jealous of the people able to kickstart 10,000$ pledges. Now that's money to burn.

$225 isn't a lot to most of us on Bluesnews, myself included, as we're all(mostly?) old farts at this point with careers. But the formerly impoverished me shudders at spending full price or full price+ on any non-existent game...I'd probably go into convulsions at $1,000 or more for software, regardless of the promises. Luckily for nin and other people who bought higher tiers, this game looks like it'll actually live up to most of our hopes without too much trouble.

I felt it was a once in a lifetime deal. It's not peanuts to me, to be sure. But I really wanted to see Obsidian make this sort of game again. Aside from the gameplay itself, I like that they're in their own world setting, and can do whatever they want. So I went in for some of the extras, as I want to know more about that world.

And yeah, it could have easily (and could still, but hopefully not) gone south...nothing is a sure thing in the world of KS.

KS says I spent $225 on this one. But it looks fantastic, and exactly what I was hoping it would be.

And I have a week of vacation in 3 weeks!

There's always a worry, when I give to a KS, that the game won't turn out to be what I wanted it to be.

And that video? That's EXACTLY what I hoped the game would be. Holy shit, am I psyched!
