what about the feel of the game? did it really convey a sense of epicness? of a game world you're just beginning to scratch the surface of? were you really sucked into the living breathing universe?

To be honest, it feels like a cross between Halo (the shooting) and Borderlands (the guns and gear).

Story wise, I'm still not sure I fully understand it. I'd say the gameplay grabbed me a lot more than the story. I think there are only 4 story missions in the beta? And they're obviously from the very beginning.

Really? You remember my posts about how derivative it seemed and how boring the combat looked (I did admire the envs tho). What did you find so compelling?

I liked chasing gear. I liked the close calls in combat. I love knifing the fuck out of the grunts. I like the random events you stumble into. I liked the SP missions, and scraping by just barely. I liked running with friends and strangers alike, and running into other groups to team up with. I like the way you can choose weapon upgrades. I like the different kinds of weapons (fire modes/styles/etc).

I also liked the 722 things I killed in my 5 hour play time, according to the phone app.

They just posted a new update apologizing for their last update. Holy shit this is getting better and better.

But not apologizing to the people they shamed on KS.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in, and sorry for the trouble. I've passed this along to our Moderation team for review!

Oh snap, it's on now.

This thing is getting surreal now. That latest update is completely bizarre. For some reason they point out this guy for example who has backed 111 projects and joined kickstarter in 2011. What do they expect to prove with that? that the seasoned kickstarter community doesn't trust them? Way to go West Games!

File a ticket, and tell them you don't think that's professional behavior from a person running a project. We got 3 days to fix this shit, and if they so much as sneeze, I'm filing a(nother) ticket.

It turns out the general advice is to leave them where they were found and let nature take its course, especially since this can be a normal part of a robin's process of leaving the nest. I checked on the area later and there was no sign of him, so I'm just allowing myself to believe things worked out fine for him.

Local Red Fox Union #374 declined comment.

And offensively, calling out people they don't like (folks that, when you check their profiles, you see they've backed a number of projects) and linking to their profiles.

I think I gave up once they reached their $ goal, but I'm back to fighting now. Fuck these guys!

Meanwhile, seems some internet detectives have found more proof that Areal is behind all those spam comments.

Excellent! KS is finally working those tickets I filed Friday for some of the spam assholes there...

edit: One asshole made over 1000 posts in 3 days: https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/1911888954

edit: Oh wow, update 25, and they're (the owners of the project): Singleing out people that don't agree with them, and providing links to their profiles. Another ticket filed!

Guys, guys...can't we all just unite in our hatred of this really shitty, clearly a scam kickstarter????? Where $50,000 magically makes a game on PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, Windows, Mac AND Linux?

I doubt they will get anything, people are just waiting till the last day to pull their funding.

I sure hope you're right. It's so frustrating watching these guys lie and be total assholes, yet (so far) seemingly get away with it, and be rewarded.

I reported two of the spammers on Friday, before the support hours of KS cutoff, and they're still going today. One of them made over 500 posts in a single day, just cutting and pasting huge walls to text, so no one else can have a conversation.

Just watched The Right Stuff a few weeks ago...so disappointing the way NASA's budget has been cut. Those guys are like rock stars of the science world, and it feels like their hands are tied.

With 10 consoles in one, does the Retron 5 have what it takes?

Neat, but holy cow that controller doesn't look comfortable.

Yeah, they gained something like 24% (12K) in a couple of hours. Nothing fishy going on there!

Also, people have been spamming the fuck out of the comments since Friday afternoon (notice the spike in comments, above) and apparently even when reported, KS support doesn't work weekends.

Nothing like cheating to win...
