I don't know why you all are surprised.

3:1 is what the pre-launch polls were showing worldwide, and 2:1 in the US.

It pretty much played out that way.
I guess that means 50% of us are stupid, while the rest of the world is only 33% stupid. Heh.

I don't think anyone's surprised as much as celebrating their fuckup, since pretty much everyone here said "that's fucking stupid" when MS rolled out their original plan...

And while polls are sometimes accurate (and sometimes not), there was also the question of how many people were just pissed at MS, but would still open their wallets once they scaled things back a bit.

For me, personally, I don't miss the adbox 360 at all...

Adrianne Curry's role in life seems to be to draw attention to herself, ever since she posted photos of her playing wow with no clothes on (if not before).

I would definitely watch a four-player Let's Play!

Honestly, let's plays are my TV these days...I get home from work, do house stuff, get an hour or two of game time in, and then watch Let's Plays for dinner/relax before bed. Sometimes it's games I'm interested in, sometimes it's stuff I would never play, just to see what the fuss is about.

I have a coworker who doesn't understand this, and says that if I'm watching a game, why not just go play it. But to me, it's like TV - something to relax to, and watch other people goof around in (and sometimes produce hilarious results) (Rooster Teeth's/Let's Play of GTA are a fucking riot, where they plan/attempt to execute their own heists, in game).

edit: I'm sure part of it also comes down to the personality of the players, and if they're entertaining. But I'd definitely check out if Blue ever did anything like that...

Glad the PS4 is doing well...started up Last of Us last night, and it looks wonderful.

Disappointed about raiding, but like I told Blue, the days of me having 3+ hour blocks of gaming time are gone anyway. But there is a genuine problem of lack of communication (only being able to talk to people in your current group, in game), and (at least so far) Bungie expecting folks to work it out elsewhere (raid strategies, recruiting, gear questions, etc etc) before joining the game. I can't tell if they just didn't think that part out well or what...

Hopefully Strikes will fill the void, at least for me.

I tried Fez for a bit and wasn't overly impressed. Perhaps it was my feeble mind trying to keep up with the map system....music was good, though!

Apparently all but two writers were let go, including some who have been there basically since the site started. Looks like they're making a major shift to video over there. Ouch.

Ouch. I was never a huge Gamespot fan, but I would still look up reviews to see how they compared to others. And it does seem like they've been around forever. Wiki says they were launched in 96, and it does seem like they were one of the earlier news sites I remember (Them and Yahoo seemed so much bigger back then).

Good luck to you!

I have to admit, the concept made me chuckle, and I might check it out, just out of curiosity...

You need to be streaming/recording that shit, Blue. People make money on YT with that, these days...

Seriously, give it some thought...

Trackball blows for gaming. I tried. You can always tell who is using one when spectating. They are SO SLOW and choppy. Your thumg is only so long, can't move around very well without repositioning your thumb, so tehre is a HUGE dead space every time you have to move back.

I must have mine set high then. A spin does a 180, and you lower your thumb back when you're ready to stop...

It looks very, very purdy. Too bad it'll likely be the same five hour "sneeze-through-in-an-afternoon" campaign again.

Also, why does attacking nuclear reactors cripple the government and the military? Were they all sitting IN said nuclear reactor or something?

Just seeing the screengrab, it looks like mass effect...

Interesting. Crytek was really excited about making this game, weren't they? Shows how desperate they are/were that they had to part with it...

As I said in two other posts on this site in months past, the part of the company having the issues was Crytek UK, which only worked on the new Homefront. It is not surprising to anyone following the events of the preceding months that this was the part that would be sold off. It's also not surprising that development was kept in the UK (take a guess where they got the people for the "new studio"). Industry analysts anticipated this quite a while ago...

Had they been truly excited about it they would have utilized Crytek Frankfurt. It does seem that they will have to shift their focus after this, though, in terms of development versus publishing and their engine.

That's not their only problem...

Online Singleplayer? ~.~

Kinda like D3, only with praise this time because it's not Blizzard. I plan on getting this when the price drops. I'm very tempted, but $75 is a bit high still.

I would say Elite's case of other players around you, as you fly/play, trumps blizzards need of an auction house.
