Online Singleplayer? ~.~

Kinda like D3, only with praise this time because it's not Blizzard. I plan on getting this when the price drops. I'm very tempted, but $75 is a bit high still.

I would say Elite's case of other players around you, as you fly/play, trumps blizzards need of an auction house.

I doubt they'd just pull the plug with no warning. I would likely buy a huge HD and just download everything.

I just cringe at the thought of trying to get everything...I have a 300 gig cap a month, and would blow through that in no time. Hell, Dragon Age is like 25 gig on it's own, and there's a few other titles people have said are bigger.

I've been saying this since Steam arrived on the scene (and has taken off) but everyone seems to think it's the second coming or something. Maybe I'm just showing my age or maybe this generation doesn't really understand what "owning" something means, but we are headed in a really bad direction with the way software and games are heading.

Gaben said they have a kill switch for if they ever went out of business. They could release all purchases. Who knows if they would actually do it, though.

That would also need either to have the steam content servers still running, or only work with already downloaded purchases. Which, some of us downloading our entire steam catalog at this point seems like a disaster...

Larry Flynt is all kinds of awesome.

Whoa, an un-banning?

Was he banned? I checked his page a couple weeks ago wondering where he'd gone, and didn't see that he was banned.

I could have sworn he was. Maybe not...

It was awesome, but I AM worried about Abrams at the helm of Ep. VII. Will it be Star Trek? Or Star Trek: Into Darkness? More the former than the latter, please.

Someone on io9 pointed out a week or two ago, that this will be the first Star Wars w/o the 20th Century Fox famous orchestral lead in. Which for Star Wars, is almost as iconic as the SW theme itself.

Kinda sad.

I understand that.
But stealing games from publishers / developers is just as wrong in the sight of the law as walking into K-Mart and stealing something off the shelf, or breaking into a home and robbing the owners.
It's basically the digital form of the same thing.

Who was talking about theft?

I think the fact that they found the old myth of cartridges being buried in the desert to be true is quite interesting, but it's interesting solely as a fact.
It was not and never was a myth. There are NYT articles from the 80s discussing the burial. That every Tom, Dick, and Jane didn't know the exact location does not make it fictitious nor supernatural.

Fact of the matter is that I'm not even sure why someone would want to dig all of this stuff up. It's junk, which is why it was sent to a landfill in the first place.

My, this blanket is wet...

Wasn't yesterday also the 100th year anniversary of WW I starting? I can't imagine living that particular 100 years, and all the crazy stuff that's happened (wars, technology, moon landings, assassinations, music, etc)...

Deadpool footage got pulled BTW...watched it at work yesterday and found it quite entertaining.

edit: Working copy of Deadpool (as of 8:26 anyway) here.

I don't object to a slight break, after playing it for an hour or two every single night for a week. But I'm sure in a week or two, I'm going to be seriously jonsing for it again. And a month and a half feels like a long ways off...
