I'm glad underworld made it. Would have supported, but Kickstarter's stupid new CC middleman no longer takes my credit card. So... :-shrug-:

It looks kind of neat, I just worry how much they can accomplish with only 600K...will it meet it's potential for that, or will it be bare bones?

Noticed a new game on steam...

"how do you Do It?" puts players in the role of an 11-year-old girl whose mother has just stepped out for an errand. The girl immediately grabs her dolls and furtively attempts to figure out how sex works using these plastic surrogates.

WTF?

edit: LOL

Reviews are a riot as well.

It's a shame you can't gift F2P games, or Bats would be getting gifted a copy right now.

I agree. Seems like they've supported it really well.

It was only a matter of time until someone invoked Godwin's l....wait did you say Lenin? Well that's different.

Guy was one of a kind. Sad to see him go.

To paraphrase a bookface post from Fringe, where someone commented: Hopefully he's doing fine in an alternate universe.

Leonard Nimoy has died aged 83. As a very infrequent Star Trek viewer, he was my favourite.

Yeah, I'm sad.

RIP Leonard! Such a cool guy...

I can't understand why anyone in America (who wasn't an executive or shareholder at an ISP) wouldn't be overjoyed by this ruling? I mean, in the States you frequently have little or no choice in your ISP and - worse still - absolutely no meaningful recourse when things go wrong or just outright suck.

Because they're fucking stupid.

Most utilities are reasonably regulated -- power, water, telecom. Is it perfect? Of course not, but when you are dealing services that are monopolies, or duopolies it comes down to which devil do you trust the most? Or if you prefer, the lesser of the evils. The ISPs had their chance, their actions have brought this on themselves.

Exactly. These companies wanted to prioritize traffic, and then slow down any companies traffic they felt should pay them more.

These companies wrote fake letters on behalf of elected officials, in an effort to complete a merger.

These are companies that systematically divide up cities into zones so they don't have to compete with each other.

Fuck them. They had their shot to play fair, and now they've been called on it. It astounds me that people haven't read up on this shit, and now cry about how it's the end of the world.

The process has only barely started, I believe Verizon has already said they'll take legal action to oppose this.

The games on console are like $70, and then when you buy the next console, you lose all those old games and have to replenish your whole library again. You can't keep using the same console to play newer games like you can with a PC. You don't have to pay to play online like you do with services like XBL. You're gonna have a computer anyway. Why not making a gaming PC?

*In your location. In the US, they're the same price as a new pc release ($60). And you can sell that back for a partial refund, once you're done, something you can't do with steam.

i'm not even sure anyone cares about the Aliens franchise anymore... it's been so long.

And yet, there was a lot of excitement for Alien Isolation, and is for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront, which is as old as the Alien franchise.

As far as Isolation, people like quality. No one's been screaming for another AvP movie.

It was a gutsy move, and I applaud it, we are talking about a horror movie after all. "Feel good" hollywood subplots have no business being in a good horror film anyway. (Or in anything else for that matter)

Just to clarify, I don't think that the Newt subplot was weak in Aliens. It wasn't, it was an essential part of the film. However in Alien3, killing off both Newt and Hicks, also served the plot of the film greatly. First of all it was unexpected, and secondly it once again cast Ripley as an outsider even more isolated and vulnerable than before.

i'm not even sure anyone cares about the Aliens franchise anymore... it's been so long.

I'd say the response to this news and the collective horror at the failed promise of Prometheus suggest otherwise.

Well, in all fairness, this one could easily suck too (though I hope not!). It's hard not to get excited, but it's a long ways off, and could easily go astray, as well.

It is odd that you see jabs (friendly or otherwise) towards consoles when I don't recall console folks shitting on the pc folks.
