Kids who died from flu last season: Most skipped vaccine.

Wonder how many people got paralyzed from the flu vaccine last season.

None. It doesn't do anything. I feel so sorry for the kids of people who don't get inoculations.....doesn't cause anything. ADD and all that other stuff is in place WAY before any shots are given.

I love that fact that he poses a question he can't even answer. It's double crossing yourself and not even realizing it.

I really feel DF is shooting themselves in the foot. How do they expect anyone to crowdsource any of their future projects? This is a PR nightmare.

Pretty much that, exactly. I have to seriously wonder if they understand the extent of the damage they're doing.

I have played through about ten hours and it's pretty fun.

Ups:

I like the story. I die a lot and I constantly feel starved for resources. No crashes or glitches so far. UI is pretty easy to use. I like the situations my party gets put in and I like the combat mechanics.

Downs:

I do miss having a quest arrow. Graphics are a little murky sometimes. Graphical character customization is lacking. Combat could have had more tactical options.

Ten hour review:

I'd give the game a solid A- / B+. Wasteland 2 is a game that has fallen right in line with my expectations. I'm going to go play it some more today. The story has drawn me in and I want to see my characters survive. I hope this success lets them make some kind of expansion or sequel with even more money. I don't want this to be a one-off. I want to see an entire series.

If you're not sure start with a "Let's Play" on Youtube and see if old-school is for you.

That all sounds awesome - keep the impressions coming!

Thanks!

Interesting...among others:

The game cost us around 5 million to create, all said and done. We raised just over 3 million between Kickstarter and paypal during our drive, then had some residual and early access sales. Brian put a chunk of his own cash into it as he wanted to get it right.

We don't need HUGE sales to be a success. One of the benefits of being a small to mid size dev team is we don't need to sell 5 million units to break even.

Oh you poor cyclists. It's horrible, you only get to ride in the sidewalk and the road, you violate traffic laws constantly and then the cops have the audacity to enforce the laws on the books? Total outrage. Check your privilege pedestrians

I'm not a fan of cyclists (specifically in the road, w/o bike lane, when they can't keep up with traffic), but police making off with your property and leaving no notice is a dick move, no way around it.

My only complaint is that the story is so patchy it's pretty much worthless. I beat all of the missions and strikes, read all the online stuff on my Destiny app, and still really have no idea what is going on. Darkness coming for us all, blah blah blah. If all the bad guys work for the darkness, why do they all fight each other?

And how I am supposed to take the robot Captain Mal?

So what do you think of the theory going around that we, the players, are the darkness?

Yeah, see ya when this game gets down to a sane price.
Isn't this what gamers are always saying they want? A game tailored first and foremost to take advantage of their own platform? True expansions instead of DLCs? Broad control schemes instead of context buttons?

But now that someone does all that, in a genre long in need of a commercial revival, and charges an industry standard price, they're asking too much? Jesus, what do developers have to do to make you people happy?

Basically, if you take whatever cutter says and think of the exact opposite, that's reality. He's in his own little bubble, thankfully.

They may have stricter DRM for their online music services and you can easily rip a CD to just about any digital format you want. Frankly I prefer CDs too. The only positive to digital music is you can sometimes get studio quality tracks.

I hardly buy digital, and when I do, I make sure it includes flac. Amazon giving free mp3s with a cd purchase is nice, but like you, I want ultimate control as to what digital format I use...

Er, wow, I had no idea that Destiny was getting bad review scores. I've been playing the shit out of it since it came out and I'd have never known it wasn't great if I hadn't seen the article about metacritic

It's fun, but I do worry about it long term...considering I've been playing it multiple hours a day since it launched, any burn out I have is my own fault.

Addressing allegations of “collusion” among gaming journalists - Ars Technica…

The asshat admits he was trying to collude with his gaming press peers to bolster Quinn's career but says everything's okay - no one went along with it. They just don't get it.

So have any other sites admitted to it as well?

My only gripe is them selling paint jobs. Is that new, or had it been there before and I just missed it?

Other than that, it's all good...

I vote "No" for video embeds on the front page.

I actually kind of like them, provided there's not a shitton of them. Having said that, the beauty of the front page is it's quick loading, and YT will only slow that down. And it's not like we still can't get the videos by clicking on a given article.

It's an expansion pack sold for full price. Good luck with that, whichever publisher is responsible for that.

Not only is the price out of whack, it just feels tired, at this point. They need to let it rest a few years and come back with something fresh.
