What do you get when you combine Subnautica and Star Citizen?

Buggy software, tons of promises, PR departments saying trust me, an empty wallet and 1500 emails asking for more donations!

So you bought Subnautica?

$35...for this? Lulz.
I think characterizing it as $35 just for "this" is kind of silly, given that you also get the full game when it comes out and every version between this and the full game.

So for instance if you're sitting in a movie theater having payed $15 for tickets and $5 for snacks and you're watching a stupid trailer and you've only eaten a bit of your snack and you go "$20... for this? Lulz" I take it we would think you were a bit of a dope.

Looks nice to me. And the purchase is helping fund it, hence the price.

I'd just ignore the naysayer.

I buy my music from Amazon. Haven't bought from Apple in years.

I wish they'd add flac, and then I'd go crazy at amazon. I can't see paying money for (compressed, lossy) mp3. I still mostly just buy cds, or flac where I can find it (directly from the artist, beatport, etc).

When in a calm state, the gamer admits there are problems. But when someone tries to address it the gamer loses his fucking mind.

Maybe it's due to blaming the whole group for the actions of a select few?

I feel sorry for Gamersgate. They've even had the name for 10 years!

Yeah me too. Very unfortunate turn of events for them. They may want to consider changing their name.

I'd totally forgotten about them until it was mentioned here the other day.

People might be willing to put up with a locked down ecosystem on a tablet like with the Amazon Kindle Fire (there are 3 in my household and we love them) but a smartphone without access to the massive and massively popular Google apps library? Bad, bad idea.

I really wanted a fire (tablet), but amazon making sure you're not over in the google hemisphere is just crazy (and a deal killer).

No wonder it took so long. There's only one player from down under.

It is puzzling why it took so long. I also view it as blizzard in for the long haul with wow, especially after shuttering titan.

I'd kill for a cold rainy week. It's still sunny and upwards of 90 here, going on November. Guess you always want what you can't have.

I do wonder what the atari generation (IE one that has continually gamed since childhood, and didn't stop) will look like in our senior years. Mentally sharp? Mentally gone? Reflexes?

That, and the mental picture of that one grandpa who tries to explain the entire metal gear series to their grandchildren/great grandchildren.

Oh, and of course, some non holographic steam emulator with the entire catalog, that we "stole" from somewhere.

It'll be in interesting study...

If you consistently treat people the way you would want to be treated in any given situation, you'll find that some people will honor that and reciprocate and others will use it against you. The trick is to stay close to the first group and avoid the latter group like the plague, whenever possible.

I think that's the problem. Assholism is never going to be stamped out on the internet. I don't possibly see how someones going to "win" against that. The best bet is to move on and ignore it. The more it's fed, the more it grows.

Why not just play UT3 then? There's still even an active instagib CTF server still active.

I never really liked UT 3, and wasn't wild about 2003/4. I thought 99 was the best of the series.

This map looks the most UT-like yet. Looks cool, I like what they're doing with the movement.

I wonder if they'll have a speed setting. I like that about the UT games. Speed up or slow down gameplay.

Any word on bots?

I think when I looked it up a few months ago, there was full bot support. They're really going old school with this, and I'm going to support them out of the gate for it, unless the word on the street is just terrible.

Yeah, the more I see and hear, the more interested I am.
