The funny thing is, the time I spent figuring out computer stuff to get games working as a kid translated into the skills I used for my last 18 years of work or so.

That's me exactly. When something required a boot disc (Wing Commander, with it's 12 floppys), you had to figure it out, if you wanted to play.

Don't forget the microtransactions!

If the game is too hard you can buy everything you need to progress. Which always makes one nervous that the game is going to be designed to be too hard and that it's done for the purpose of selling microtransactions.

They're claiming it isn't in the main story portion, but it's still a shitty thing to do.

Not that I'm defending them in any way, shape, or form.

I loved the first Ghostbuster movie, and the second one was ok.

Man, the second one was garbage.

Agreed. The second one wasn't anywhere close to the classic the first one was.

that would actually be a real shame if Joystiq closed... they were/are a great gaming blog and i've been visiting them at least once a week for the past decade. if any site should be closing shop it should be Kotaku or Polygon...

They're not bad at all. Their YT videos have this one guy who's voice gets on my nerves, but that's the worst thing I have to say about them...

And to find out you're getting canned, not from your bosses, but from your peers in the industry. That's fucking classy.

Hopefully they'll land on their feet. Even That One Annoying Guy. Good luck to them!

It does work well. Only thing negative is no proper support for widescreen resolutions. The image is just stretched, looks horrible. But they offer the original 4:3 resolution with some nice looking borders left and right, so ...

Much rather have bars on the side than a stretched image. Glad they offer it.

Really? I've been gaming at 2304x1440 for more than a decade, with all the "bells and whistles," and I'm still on a 580 which runs basically everything at max with excellent framerates. Barely to the point where we can do 1080p? Please. 1080p has been low resolution to me for fucking ever.

You /= to everyone.

That's the stretch goal I really wanted to see. The Matrix really needed some more depth and personality. Good to see them beefing up that aspect. Can't wait for this to be released!

Totally agree, that was the one I wanted as well, and was initially a little disappointed they put it so far out.

I keep waiting for the project to lose steam, like most do in the middle (before picking up again at the end), but so far it's still chugging along...at this point, the 1m goal doesn't seem far fetched.

edit: Goddamn, Kittens just hit 4 million!

Nonsense article is full of nonsense. Wow.

There is no pendulum. People play games on what they want to. Hell, I play games on my high end pc, Xbone, PS4, 3DS, tablet, and phone. The author acts like people stopped playing PC games when the Bone and PS4 released.

Some people aren't happy unless they take sides, and then proclaim their decision to anyone who'll listen.

It's childish, really. This isn't 2nd grade recess, no mater how much some act like it.

Played the game a bit.

Discovered that if you choose certain weapons, some people go absolutely berserk... Even when I wasn't doing all that well, merely using a specific weapon is all it takes.

Unfortunately, "Mute" only stops mics. It doesn't stop text chat. I'm not sure if reporting players does anything, no matter how much they rave, scream, and swear.

These examples are why I look for bot support in games like this...
