With patch 2.0 and the AH gone, the game is actually worth playing now.

Totally agree with that. Loot 2.0 has made the game a lot more enjoyable for me. Pretty much every 60-90 minutes it's Orange Time, and it's fucking awesome. All kinds of neat stuff I never saw in the first month, and never thought I'd get a shot at...

Were these items already in the game, or are they new? It never ceases to amaze me that devs will make these really awesome and fun weapons, and then make it so that 99.999% of their players will never, ever fucking see one.

HI GEARBOX!

As far as I know (granted, I'm not an expert on d3) they were there (that is to say, these specific items), but just had very low drop rates. I think I played something like 40-50 hours when D3 launched, and got a single orange (which my current character couldn't even use, as it was for a barb, I believe).

With 2.0, I pretty sure they've said (don't have the quote in front of me) they've gone back and revisited oranges, and bumped them up a bit so that "a legendary is now actually legendary". (edit: Jivaro beat me to this part.)

Toss in Adventure mode with the expansion and I'm actually excited to play D3.

The only funny thing I find about this is that even before loot 2.0; I was finding a Legendary every 60-90 mins. The only difference is that if it wasn't an upgrade(which was the problem) I could sell it. Now it's just a brimstone(BOA set to the class i'm playing) as it's not even worth the gold sell, as golds useless. In the exp you'll need 61-70 legendary's for crafting higher end stuff, but I feel with the sad state of crafting in all ARPG games it won't last.

It sounds like you might have played longer than I have. I just hit 60 (and about 13 paragon levels) over the weekend, so most orange drops are still an upgrade to me. Obviously, at some point soon, I'm going to see diminishing returns on what drops, like what you're describing with your experience.

So I can see where you're coming from. I do wish that crafting might get a retool, as from 1-60, I hardly used it at all, since almost anything that dropped was better (or anything I did craft to fill a gap was quickly replaced).

Dig Dug!!!!!!!!!

Ikari was awesome, but I never got very far in it. Wish someone would write a home version that looks like the arcade, but supports using one stick to aim. As it is, traditionally all ports want you to use the bumper buttons on the controller to emulate the turning of the stick (which sucks, especially as most controllers offer two sticks now).

Oh, and HEAVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVY BARRRRRRELLLLLL!

edit: Tempest!

Imagine how many customers they'd lose if they didn't have near monopolies in many areas. Its pretty bad when a good part of your customer base only has two options, us or nothing, and they choose nothing.

I think that's the real key. I was initially excited when I saw the link, but it basically shows people switched from cable to internet service, with money staying in the same pocket it was previously going into.

I hope google fiber gives everyone a kick in the ass...

Cool, remember it being my favorite game i had on the old Apple IIGS

Yeah Gauntlet was pretty badass at the time, not sure how it will hold up though.

When I was a kid, and this was in the arcade. Oh man! The game, actually TALKED!!!! ***Mind blown*** So decades later I'm messing around with MAME and, "acquired" a few old arcade classic ROMS. I fired this one up, nostalgically thinking, "my kids are gonna LOVE this!" Man, did my childhood memory ever build this one up. It's still a fun little co-op hack and slash in it's own way. But, technology definitely wasn't as advanced as I thought it was in 1985.

I remember encountering a Sinistar machine for the first time as a kid, and it scaring the fuck out of me.

Britain's mcvuk takes money from Microsoft to bleat stupid nonsense; also likes it up the ass.

Years ago (IE still wasn't popular then), I had a boss who, every time the sales rep passed along a link about how great and secure IE was, he'd pass it along to the rest of us. I finally started accusing him of propaganda.

Then there was another time (different boss, years earlier) who had a Roxio rep on the speaker phone. I walk in, and w/o me knowing who he's talking to, he says:

Boss: (to me) "Hey, whats the best cd burner software?"

Me: "Nero."

Boss:(into speaker, shit eating grin on face) "Did you catch that?"

Sales rep: "WHAT?! Nooooooooooooooo!"

WTF then. The email I got says:
We are writing to provide you advance notice that the price of your Prime membership will be increasing. The annual rate will be $99 when your membership renews on June 4, 2014.

I'm guessing that this isn't your first year of Prime, and those of us who are new members get the lower renewal fee.
When I joined Prime last Fall, I was told when my $79 renewal would be... Increasing that now could break the contract.

This will be starting my 3rd year in July, I believe?

What is with the age limit on the web site? Come on it was a kids arcade game. So they are making it too gory for kids? what a bunch of idiots.

Arrowhead has not exactly blessed the gaming community with solid games, they would not be my first choice.

Did they not let you in?! Huh!

I never played EQ after hearing so many stories like this and the infamous "rat grinding". I'm sure it was better later, but I never got the taste for it. WoW would end up being my first MMO.

Yeah, to be fair, I think it was early on (think it was Ruins of Kunark, which wiki says was 2000), before too many expansions were released. It could have gotten better with time.

I challenge anyone to show me a single example of a videogame movie that didn't suck.

People seemed to like the first Mortal Kombat, though I never saw it. I liked Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

I'll vouch for the first MK movie. Don't go in there expecting high-brow cinema but as far as rainy Saturday afternoon action flicks go, it's great.

I think it's all about managed expectations. I went in with rock bottom expectations for the first Thor movie, and really enjoyed it (much to my surprise).
