As pretty as the game is, it's the sound that makes me smile. I just love the purr of the engines as you speed up or slow down.

That Counterfeiter story is Scorcese film material stuff! Holy shit!

The fact that he basically walked, I thought, was really impressive.

Ballsy guy...did kind of suck that his accomplice did more time than he did, though.

I'd totally forgotten they were looking for more funds for that, and was thinking about chipping in. And then the email shows up yesterday and says it's funded.

Well done!

There wasn't anything in that DEMO that made me want the game enough to spend the money. With so much quality gaming available, I haven't touched a BF game.....probably since that demo.....

I suspect they know that's part of the problem (not that they'll ever admit it). So many people have said it looks like a mod.

Okay, I'm watching that vid, getting all ready with my snarky comment about how the guy's finger fell off the next day, when he pulls (literally) that trick at the end. I'll admit, that was both clever and cool. And you can reuse the string that night to floss your teeth with.

I told Blue when he was wrapping around the rest of the finger, I thought maybe his plan was to constrict the finger enough to allow the ring to slide. But the thing at the end was like "holy shit!".

edit:digg had a great video of the explosion here.

Why are they not sell internet spaceships for the real money?

Fools Slap

They're actually selling skins, but at least those won't effect gameplay.

I fear a great disturbance in the force if EA forces DICE them to rush it just so it can be out at that same time as the upcoming lame Episode 7.

No time for quality, the deadline must be met!

I wonder about that as well. We're already seeing compromises, when traditionally we see the power of the system as it ages, as programmers learn the various tricks to get more out of it.

To be fair, this generation isn't very old. The 360 and PS3 lasted for eight years; the XBox One and PS4 are a year old. I think it took longer than a year for the former two consoles to stretch their legs.

Not to say AMD's Jaguar isn't hideously underpowered (it's a mobile SoC ffs) or that 30fps is somehow a good thing...

That's very true. It's just frustrating that 1080/60FPS appears mostly unobtainable, so far.

He's not a marketing drone, hes the games producer. He was also misquoted:

"Update: Yamagiwa has stated via Twitter that the "30 FPS is the best framerate to play action games in," quote from the PlayStation Lifestyle interview is a misquote/translation. "We are to assign 1080p/30fps for Bloodborne considering its game designs, but didn't say it's the best choice for all action games" he said

Emphasis mine.

I liked this reply:

@giwamasa Um...yes you did, or do you not understand English?

In any case, FEEL THE POWER OF NEXT CURRENT PREVIOUS GEN!!!!
It's sad how pathetically underpowered these "new" consoles are.

I have a feeling this will be one of the shortest console generations, and we'll be seeing Xbox Two pretty soon along with PS5 in maybe 3-4 years.

I wonder about that as well. We're already seeing compromises, when traditionally we see the power of the system as it ages, as programmers learn the various tricks to get more out of it.

Note that the newer versions require a joystick, while the older versions can be played with k/m.

Thanks, Disney!

The "newer" version in this case is the Collector's Edition release back in 1998. Mouse was supported in the original 1993 & 1994 releases but not in subsequent versions. This isn't something Disney changed just now.

I was referring to Disney licensing it, not Disney making change to the code.

What about Alliance? It is a great game and definitely deserves a re-release. I think GOG should've actually released the entire trilogy, and only with updated graphics. Still have my trilogy CD's around, but unfortunately they won't install on 64bit OS without hassle.

Hopefully "soon". I would expect they're going to take one look at the sales numbers for these and have no question Alliance and XvT need to happen.

Alliance would be good, but I have 2 words for you:

Full. Throttle.

Moog mentioned Outlaws in yesterdays thread, as well.

Good times ahead! Between this and the GTA extras they announced earlier this morning, I feel like it's Christmas day.
