Obviously this was not in the US, otherwise someone would have immediately shot the poor dog.

That crossed my mind as well. A little worrisome...

Was well done though. Maybe everyone was in on it...

I'd create a square of small banners at the top, Blue. 2 by 2,

Amazon USA -------- Amazon UK
Amazon Canada ---- Amazon Germany

That way they show up first and are easy to get to for people just doing a quick pop by to get to Amazon through your page, and it's easily subdivided for users of the respective territories.

I like that idea!

It is rather telling they all trotted out the same line, all around the same time, in an attempt to circle the wagons...

Minimise two-way interaction with fans. There are always going to be a minority of kooks out there. If you make a blog with commenting enabled, or a twitter account that allows direct unfiltered discussion then you can expect some craziness.

20 years ago we had no direct contact with game devs. Now they're al signing up for services that essentially provide an open line into their lives. What do they expect? People are going to people. I say "people", not "gamers" because nasty behaviour is not isolated to our hobby as the gaming press would have us believe.

They want the best of both worlds, where they can advertise to you out the wazoo, but not hear anything negative back...

The only problem I see with a scheme like this is that incorrect word of mouth can spread about how buggy a game is. People may hear this and not realize that the "bug" being mentioned was intentional on the part of the developer. I remember reading threads when one of the Silent Hunter games (I think it was SH4) released with this type of copy protection. There was lots of discussion of its bugginess and some of the bugs being talked about were the intentional ones. Of course it didn't help that the game released in a horrid state DRM notwithstanding, but I digress...

Titan Quest!

So tempted to pick up Space Run. Anyone playing it?

TB did a good video on it. It looks like a neat concept (kinda original, basically a tower defense where you move), but it looked very frantic and not easy.

JR was certainly polarizing. She's simultaneously being lauded as a trailblazer and castigated as mean-spirited.

I never really paid her much mind either way, so w/o reservation I can say RIP.

I wasn't a fan of her, but a lot of well known comics spoke highly of her, and I think that says something. She'd been in the industry a long time...

Not to cheapen her death at all, but 81 isn't bad...and it wasn't like she was bedridden the last 10 years or anything. She seemed to have a good life.

Was going to respond to nin and say there were two female comedian legends left besides Betty White, who were Carol Burnett and Joan Rivers earlier but dealing with a massive toothache and took a nap.

*gets shivers down his spine*

I saw something of Carol's the other day, and I swear to god, it's like she doesn't age. Almost like she's a vampire. My favorite routine of her's is still the Gone With The Wind skit where she walks down the staircase in a dress made from a curtain rod (13:00 in). Even as a kid, that shit was hilarious. edit: Odd. Wiki lists Carol's age as 81 as well...

Hope your toothache gets better, man. Those are no fun at all...

Yup, reportedly plastic surgeons all over LA are grieving the loss pretty heavily...

That is all.

I admit, this made me laugh...

She died as she lived... having surgery.

No, each Amazon site has a separate affiliate program.

Does it allow you, as a bona fide yankee doodle, to set up an amazon.co.uk version in addition? I think I've seen both versions on sites before and I'd be happy to use a UK one for my purchases.

Seems I can... It's still pending approval, but I now have a code for the UK affiliate programmme:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/?_encoding=UTF8&tag=blsne-21

And for Amazon Germany:

http://www.amazon.de/?_encoding=UTF8&tag=blsne00-21

Sorry, don't know enough German to mirror the "programme" joke.

Thanks again for the support!

We're going world wide!

When I decide to use Amazon to purchase something privately Ill be sure to use your link Blue. Does it have to be game related? Can it be a book? Or maybe a peripheral?

Yeah, they have their own rules about what does or doesn't qualify, but it's not about being games related at all.

I'm assuming 3rd party resellers don't count? Or gift cards? I just ordered some (work) stuff and used the link, but it's a "fulfilled by amazon" 3rd part seller. So I don't know if that'll count or not...

The LED bulbs were mine, and they were from a third party and "fulfilled by amazon", so those work too.

Oh, well sweet. I just blew $150 on dvi cables for work (technically the company did).

R.I.P.? Nope: Betty White is not dead.

I swear, I thought this said Barry White...
