I've seen nothing but good things about Inquisition.
- Clunky crafting/upgrading interface.
- Collectibles. Loads of collectibles.

I did see the first in a video I watched last night (this one, if you're interested). If you mean collectables like going around and finding hidden stuff on the map, I actually like finding hidden stuff. But at the same time, I can see why that wouldn't interest everyone, and one could argue those work resources could go elsewhere into something more noticeable/meaningful.

Tactical view seemed to get lost in the trees a bit, from what I've seen. Sometimes it seems hard to find the best angle. But I like that you can totally pause, issue orders, and then advance time as you like.

Wound up trading my PS3 and getting an XBone. Sunset Overdrive is pretty fun. And funny, regardless of Yahtzee's opinion. The 4th wall breaking is pretty funny, and I thought it was awesome when the main character cracked a line from Die Hard as I approached an office building full of bad guys. (And it wasn't an obvious line, either.)

Overdrive and Forza are about the only things that would tempt me to get an xbone. Was looking at sale prices yesterday, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I'm still pissed at them, I guess.

Not that I had particularly high hopes for either Inquisition or Unity, but both games apparently being pretty but boring (pretty boring, har-har) is disappointing none the less. Especially Inquisition. I have essentially given up on the entire AC franchise anyway.

I've seen nothing but good things about Inquisition.

When were they ever off it?

For a brief moment, around Blood Dragon, yes.

Unknown Soldier wrote on Nov 11, 2014, 17:47:
It is well worth it. The reskinned version is very nice and the gameplay still holds up well. Beware though, some of the mods/options dumb the game down (or at least lower the difficulty) enough so that it isn't nearly as frightening as originally intended. For example you can make it so enemies don't respawn and your weapons degrade much slower. Those changes significantly reduce the tension and practically eliminate heart-pounding-oh-shit-run-for-your-life moments, in my opinion.

You could turn off respawning and weapon degradation by editing an ini, after a (official) patch was released.

Note: This procedure involves editing a game file; create a backup copy of the file before proceeding. Locate the "user.cfg" file in the game folder. If it is not present, copy the "ip.cfg" file from the "\help" folder to the game directory and rename it to "user.cfg". Use a text editor to edit the "user.cfg" file. Add the following entries to the file:

undead
gun_degrade_rate 0
no_spawn

In combination with all the best mods one can find there, it looks pretty cool. Here are the patch notes.

Hrm, I may have to try this. I haven't played System Shock 2 since the old days, on CD... not even sure I can find my original CDs anymore, but surely it's on gog.com or something by now.

Gog and steam both, $10...I actually dug my cd out awhile back. I tried it with a texture pack (can't remember which one), but it actually lost a few textures along the way (signs, etc), and kind of gave up on it at that point. Not that that's the fault of the game.

i didn't watch the colbert cuz both sides of this thing has gotten beyond stupid, but from the snippets i've seen, it seems like he was subtly trolling her and she didn't even realize it. true or no?

He was very fair. He didn't say "gamers" or "all these gamers", he said "some gamers" when describing the harassment.

And when he specifically asked for multiple examples in games that had a negative message towards gender, she basically spun her wheels, blurted out "grand theft auto" (aka media whipping boy) and then ignored his question and went on with her prepared statement.

She looked rather ill informed (as always).

Every time I see Cook, Serve, Delicious! I think of Ryan =( Great game, and that tribute was really rad.

What happened there? Someone died?

I'd had that game on my list forever, keep meaning to pull the trigger.

Ryan Davis was one of the Giant Bomb co-founders. He died last year. As for what he has to do with Cook, Serve, Delicious, see the link below.

Great game. My wife and I adore it, and that doesn't happen especially often. It hits that balance of 'difficult but fair' every time; and I never feel like success is out of reach. Only that I need a bit more practice to get the hang of those tougher recipes.

Thanks!
