I'd kill for a cold rainy week. It's still sunny and upwards of 90 here, going on November. Guess you always want what you can't have.

I do wonder what the atari generation (IE one that has continually gamed since childhood, and didn't stop) will look like in our senior years. Mentally sharp? Mentally gone? Reflexes?

That, and the mental picture of that one grandpa who tries to explain the entire metal gear series to their grandchildren/great grandchildren.

Oh, and of course, some non holographic steam emulator with the entire catalog, that we "stole" from somewhere.

It'll be in interesting study...

Any chance for a real discussion is long gone, it's just fanatics yelling at each other now, with moderates getting drowned out in the noise.

Pretty much that exactly.

If you consistently treat people the way you would want to be treated in any given situation, you'll find that some people will honor that and reciprocate and others will use it against you. The trick is to stay close to the first group and avoid the latter group like the plague, whenever possible.

I think that's the problem. Assholism is never going to be stamped out on the internet. I don't possibly see how someones going to "win" against that. The best bet is to move on and ignore it. The more it's fed, the more it grows.

Why not just play UT3 then? There's still even an active instagib CTF server still active.

I never really liked UT 3, and wasn't wild about 2003/4. I thought 99 was the best of the series.

This map looks the most UT-like yet. Looks cool, I like what they're doing with the movement.

I wonder if they'll have a speed setting. I like that about the UT games. Speed up or slow down gameplay.

Any word on bots?

I think when I looked it up a few months ago, there was full bot support. They're really going old school with this, and I'm going to support them out of the gate for it, unless the word on the street is just terrible.

Yeah, the more I see and hear, the more interested I am.

I've always thought Facebook needed a "STFU" button. And maybe a "Quit Your Friggin' Whining" button. And while I'm at it, how about a "No One Cares Narcissus" button.

Judging from a post this morning about flu vaccines, "holy cow, a friend of my friend is a kook.".

I was ready to make a snarky comment about Mathew Broderick being the master mind who conspired to keep women out of a field full of socially awkward male mouth-breathers, but then I read the actual article which is realy titled, When Women Stopped Coding, and makes no mention of a conspiracy to keep women out of the computer sciences(Unlike the Slashdot summary). Advertising can be a powerful influence on the young when they are trying to define their rolls in society, either directly by telling kids what they should like, or indirectly through suggesting to parents what would be best for their kid.

Did you know Matthew Broderick killed a couple of people years ago? I'd never heard of it until recently...

Why is this on mass media now... why...

Because the Democratic party is a train wreck going into the elections and MSNBC is just a shill for the DNC. They need to fill time with something other than the fact that the Democrats are probably going to lose the senate.

6/10. Effort, but but spectacular.

I'm just not digging the game. Instead of making a interesting challenging game, they just throw endless orc's at you.

It reminds me of Diablo (in a good way) in that it scratches a particular itch really well. But if you don't like what it offers, nothing else is going to save it for you.

I love it, but I understand it's not everyones taste.
