Steven Tyler could go dressed as a hippie Admiral Ackbar. He wouldn't even need makeup to give him a big fish mouth.

Many years ago (high school), I worked at a Chuck E Cheese with a friend of mine, who would sometimes wear the suit and go out and mingle with the kids. One night Steven Tyler and his family stroll in (not sure about now, but at the time he was married to a woman from here (Tulsa)).

Then Joe Perry shows up.

So my friend quickly dons the Chuck suit, grabs a couple of paper plates (we passed them out with the pizza) and a pen and heads over. Naturally, they invite him to sit down. He quickly signs his own name (so a "Chuck E Cheese" autograph) on one of the plates and slides it across the table. And THEN slides the other (blank) plate and the pen to Steven.

It worked!

Offline mode: Offline was NEVER a promised feature. The game was ALWAYS sold as an online multiplayer game. Anyone who says different is lying or is misled. Read the Kickstarter proposal.

Here ya go, emphasis mine:

How will single player work? Will I need to connect to a server to play?

The galaxy for Elite: Dangerous is a shared universe maintained by a central server. All of the meta data for the galaxy is shared between players. This includes the galaxy itself as well as transient information like economies. The aim here is that a player's actions will influence the development of the galaxy, without necessarily having to play multiplayer.

The other important aspect for us is that we can seed the galaxy with events, often these events will be triggered by player actions. With a living breathing galaxy players can discover new and interesting things long after they have started playing.

Update! The above is the intended single player experience. However it will be possible to have a single player game without connecting to the galaxy server. You won't get the features of the evolving galaxy (although we will investigate minimising those differences) and you probably won't be able to sync between server and non-server (again we'll investigate).

That's from the KS front page FAQ.

I get to do something cool later today, though mentioning it in advance is not really playing it cool.

STAR WARS??!?

but I'll fill you in tomorrow, at which point it will probably be a "so what?"

Ok, maybe not!

So I'm just setting myself up here. That's me... living on the edge.

You and Aerosmith are going to go see Star Wars together?!

I've been pretty happy with mine. Was amazed it could run Hearthstone. Got aurora running on it for browsing with ABP, and got dropbox sideloaded as well. Only thing I wouldn't use it for is the camera, which is pretty weak.

I doubt Konami would just give him a regular exit. Somewhere in his contract, it probably bans him from making games that run on machines newer than the Super Nintendo and he can't use colors for the next decade or they throw him in their dungeon.

He hooked up with sony last night/this morning. ps4 exclusive.

Bioshock 1 & 2 were quite awesome. That last game, not so much. The story was just far too ludicrous for my tastes.

But Elizabeth was wonderful! One of the rare NPCs that isn't terrible. I'm looking at you, Dogmeat.

She was. Her dancing on the boardwalk to the music was just adorable.

I still don't quite understand how the SS license was buried under red tape for nearly two decades then all the sudden a company comes out of nowhere and is given complete control of past titles and now a sequel.

Just go with it, man! Choo choo!

Imagine how bad it would have been in the 80's trying to avoid ESB's big reveal if the internet existed then.

Heh, good luck!

I pure hated dragon's lair. It's a huge QTE, except that you have no idea what key to press and they also don't tell you when to press it.

There were visual cues (elements that flashed on the screen) but I don't doubt they were intentionally vague in some cases, to encourage failure/more money being spent.

The same reason they tossed out the two Prototype games on the ps4 and xbone, with no improvements whatsoever, at the same high prices.

Even if they get a few hits, it's easy money, as the work is already done.

Fingers crossed.
