So you're totally backtracking now and admitting it's not going to happen here? Our government won't have healthcare rules relating to bearing arms, the number of children you can have, what you eat, and where you can drive, and how old you're allowed to be? Like you said in post 13?

I don't care about your links, I'm talking about what you were claiming was going to happen. Stop trying to draw attention away from what you said.

As soon as they are able- which again will likely be never with folks like you pulling the train. That comforts me.

PS you're spending a lot of mental energy demanding a date- I never offered one. Get help.

To follow up on your earlier quote:

Can you please tell me when we'll have healthcare rules relating to bearing arms, the number of children you can have, what you eat, and where you can drive, and how old you're allowed to be?

I'd like a date to make on the calendar, please.

Thanks!

The materials you just ignored shows in print that the NHS can arbitrarily delay treatment if they think you need to lose weight or stop smoking. They can do the same to women just because they have breasts.

The Liverpool Care Path (which you are also ignoring) is a well documented practice in which elderly people in the NHS are denied all care except pain killers when they are arbitrarily deemed too old to go on living at the state's expense.

But to answer your question directly- never in the USA. Because those attempting to implement them will fold when push comes to shove because they are cowards. Look at you. You can't even bear to read what is found for you.

Let me Google that for you: (you're going to have to stitch these together because Blues doesn't like long URLs)

www.nhs.uk/choiceintheNHS

/Rightsandpledges/Waitingtimes/Pages

/Guide%20to%20waiting%20times.asp

You have the right to start your consultant-led treatment within a maximum of 18 weeks from referral, unless you choose to wait longer, or it is clinically appropriate that you wait longer.

If it is not possible to be seen within the maximum waiting time, the primary care trust (PCT) or strategic health authority (SHA) that commissions your treatment must investigate and offer you a range of suitable alternative hospitals or community clinics that would be able to see or treat you more quickly.

But then there's this:

Patients with urgent conditions such as cancer and heart disease, will be able to be seen and receive treatment more quickly. For example, you have the right to be seen by a specialist within a maximum of two weeks from GP referral for urgent referrals where cancer is suspected.

OH, but then there's this:

Note: Referrals for investigations of breast symptoms where cancer is not initially suspected are not urgent referrals for suspected cancer, therefore, they fall outside the scope of this right.

Sorry women, you're less equal.

Oh and then there's this, the coup de grace:

Exceptions

The right to be seen within maximum waiting times does not apply:
If you choose to wait longer.
If delaying the start of your treatment is in your best clinical interests, for example where stopping smoking or losing weight is likely to improve the outcome of the treatment.
If it is clinically appropriate for your condition to be actively monitored in secondary care without clinical intervention or diagnostic procedures at that stage.
If you fail to attend appointments that you had chosen from a set of reasonable options, or
If the treatment is no longer necessary.
The following services are not covered by the right:
Non-medical consultant-led mental health services, and
Maternity services.

And let me throw in a little Liverpool Care Pathway on top:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2161869

/Top-doctors-chilling-claim-The-NHS-kills-130-000

-elderly-patients-year.html

This is the last time I will answer your lazy and ignorant requests.

Citation please.

So as a proponent of national health care do you support the Affordable Care Act that will force you to buy health insurance from a private, for profit insurer? Or do you just plan to not work ever and be on medicade then medicare for the rest of your life? OR do you plan on making money under the table while sticking it to taxpayers for medicade/medicare?

IF you don't support the Affordable Care Act why do you trust the people that foisted it upon you to forge an equitable national health care system?

I could cite everything, but we have to pass national health care to find out what's in it, right?

Sic Semper Tyrannis.

To quote someone a few posts back: "Isn't fear mongering awesome? "I have nothing to back up these wild accusations someone on the tv/radio told me, but fuck am I scared! Quick! Everyone into the cellar!"

Or to paraphrase... g'dam you're a friggin idiot. You're way, way, way past the "it's pointless to talk to you" line.

Burn straw man burn!

Yeah, you're right- we're pretty much done talking.

I'll see you at the polls and I'll bring all the folks from Chic-Fil-A day with me.

immigration...

This is the last thing I'm going to address because this is important to me.

Obama and the congressional super-majority of Democrats pushed through a health care plan almost nobody wanted. Do you really think that if he had called for the immigration plan that nearly all Democrats wanted that it would not have been passed? Really?

They buried it. Fact.

Now that they can't do it it's an issue again. Fact.

I'm painfully aware of what being in legal limbo does to people. I watch the news and see how illegal immigrants get treated here in Las Vegas. Your narrative of race baiting shows you care more about demonizing people like me than helping people like them.

As for the rest- let me just dumb this down a few grade levels, now that Israel is on the board all detailed arguments are invalid anyway:

The people who work are not happy anymore paying for free shit for people who won't. Come and see.

No thank you. And don't bother telling me it won't happen, it already is happening.

Could you list some examples regarding healthcare relating to arms, the number of children you can have, what you eat, and where you can drive, and how old you're allowed to be?

China's one child policy- no arms in the UK, penalties for fat people, gas is $10.00 a gallon to pay all the taxes for healthcare in the UK.

But that could never happen here- that's your next line right?

Actually, I have more money under Obama; and I believe will get even more if his administration is able to get certain social and immigration policies enacted as that will favorably impact my friends and family.

Do I like everything he's done? Hell no. But Romney is not the answer.

Obama had two years to grant blanket amnesty and he didn't. He could have sorted the whole thing in your favor in fifteen minutes and he didn't. And you're still waiting at his feet for him to grant you freedom.

His position in fact is that your immigrant family members are still likely illegal- he can come for you whenever he wants to but he is graciously choosing not to, for now.

We racist Americans only want two things regarding Mexico: get control of the boarder and make immigrants suffer all the same taxes and regulations that we do while they are here. Mass exportation is a bogey man story told by Democrats to keep you in line.

I'm done wasting time- internet ideologues aren't going to win this election they can just keep talking fear and division.

Really? Care to point at some of that evidence from a neutral third-party? Why is the USA the only major, developed economy country that doesn't have it? Some of the greatest minds in history (such as Stephen Hawking) are only alive today because of national healthcare programs in their respective countries.

Healthcare should be provided for every member of a society; a "rising tide lifts all boats" as they say. Any economist will tell you that until you take care of the basic needs of a people in a society, they won't have disposable income to inject into the economy.

I'm not wasting time- you're a true believer so let me just tell you how I feel personally because I think that will have more impact.

You're 3+ years behind the times and that's why Obama will lose.

You have some pretty interesting claims in your post, and some statistics I'm pretty sure were pulled out of some random nether region.

You seem to imply that Romney is superior to Obama, but you completely gloss over the fact that despite Obama's failures, Romney would be a disaster from a religious freedom and personal freedom perspective.

I don't have much else to say about the rest of your post except that my personal belief is that you are so very wrong. I can't fathom how Romney could win at this point, unless Americans have another collective lapse of consciousness and zombie-vote for Romney like they did for Bush.

You also appear to completely ignore the large segment of non-Caucasian voters who I sincerely doubt would vote for Romney.

Ideology. Race divisions. Identity politics.

Everyone likes money. They have less under Obama- it's simple arithmetic. Not enough people yet value ideology over prosperity, thankfully.

Matshock, I see what you mean, and you're right about a lot of things. No president will be able to balance the budget EVER AGAIN. That case is lost. The US still has to pay billions for GWB's stupid war in Iraq. The Afghanistan war is expensive, too, but was necessary. The downside is, that the Afghanistan war is lost. Alexander the Great experienced this, the Russians experienced this, and now the USA and the Coalition Forces experience this.
About giving money to the banks: what would have been the alternative? A sooner end of quick money captialism? I doubt anybody with half a brain would want this. And no matter whether the name of the next PotUS will be Obama or Romney, the next glorious leader will have to throw even more money after the already burnt money. I'm afraid (REALLY afraid) that what we see is the end of the western way of life, not only in the US, but also in Europe. If this happens, our world will change in a way Obama didn't intend it. And it won't be a change for good.

I understand why we were in Iraq (now back in Kuwait)- look at a map; look at Iraq, now look at Afganistan, now look what is right in between them. But you're right otherwise- it was a fool's errand to think we can do what has wrecked so many empires in the past. UBL is dead, call the troops home.

IMO though it's the welfare state that is the poison pill of Western
Civilization, especially the USA. We can go on without empire, not without liberty and the unifying causes of gainful work and family.

Honestly the people being are probably smarter than those of us not being paid...it's all about money right? That is how the system works, you spend money to get what you want...so if I'm not going to get national healthcare systems and fewer loopholes for massive corporations to exploit then I should at least get paid right?

I don't want national health care. I don't even care if you understand why- the evidence against such a thing being beneficial is so overwhelming that only a blind ideologue could ignore it.

A flat tax would close all those evil loopholes you're worried about- but then again we wouldn't be able to hide just how much government spending costs us anymore and it would make national healthcare look like the fiscal doom that it is.

Palin isn't even on the radar anymore. You're 3+ years behind the times and that's why Obama will lose.

Here's what it comes down to: money. People thought Obama was going to give them free money in 2008- that turned out not to be true unless you're a banker or a select political ally.

The 99 weeks of unemployment has run out for most people on it and since Republicans refuse to finance their own defeat those folks will be voting for Romney because they need jobs again.

Retirees will vote for Romney mostly because Obama took medicare money away from them and didn't raise their social security when the price of food and gas keeps going up.

People who make money by working in the private sector will vote for Romney by 80% or more- they outnumber government workers by about 5 to 1. Union workers in the private sector are becoming scarce because they've been fired in favor of older union workers and their pensions.

All that leaves Obama with are people that are permanently in the welfare state who don't turn out to vote very much, public employees, people living off of student loans who are unhappy with Obama and won't turn out to vote and the vast majority of the approximately 10% of undead Americans who mostly reside in states that Obama would carry anyway.

Obama is toast. But so are we the people- Romney already admitted that he won't even be able to balance he budget for 8-10 years; in real speak that means no end in sight.

But hey, I'll take Romeny as CIC during a national crisis over "blow up Americans with drones" Obama any day. Maybe people will finally be ready for Rand Paul or Herman Cain in 2016.

Honestly, Portal 2 pissed me off- I know I'm in short company there but it was thoroughly consolized and only half as good as it could have easily been. Great story, mediocre game. The dated engine contributed to this I'm sure.

I would pay $30.00 to go see a combined P/P2 three hour movie and pee in a zip lock bag to make sure I don't miss anything but I'm actually considering watching the next Valve FPS on Youtube instead of buying it.

They need to make Linux run in a window- or even in the background. Call it "PC games service" or something generic. Then when MS tries licensing all games that run on Windows publishers can side-step them.

MS could always block that too but then at least it would be naked anti-competitive behavior and they'd end up losing in court.

Not today, but I'm getting a vibe that this is coming sometime in Windows 8.

I know the whole "I'll agree with you then co-opt your argument and spin it" hash Sir, save it.

MS sees the Apple model like you just said- get people on a proprietary platform, convince them there is no good alternative then juice them. It's the new business model- act like a government. If it works long term then welcome to a new dark age.

I never said I'd go with Android. I am simply pointing out that there will always be alternatives in a market that has any freedom at all. That businesses that use artificial restrictions and anti-competitive practices as market tactics don't deserve my business and I don't have to give it to them.

Don't believe me? I'm a year-old cable cutter and loving it. I'm getting more value for less money with DSL, a Roku and a Mohu antenna than I ever could with the one cable company that is allowed to operate here. Ditching MS would be just another step for me.

Take care Sir.

I disagree, and we'll see what happens.

I can tell you this for certain- if I have to choose between XBOX 720, XBOXPC, Apple or Linux I'm choosing Linux. I'll just find something else to spend time on.

Maybe Android will make their move too- Google is coming after no-value cable companies that are ripe for the taking and perhaps so is MS.

Personally, I'd rather let devs/publishers do their own thing than need MS's permission to publish for Windows.

Plus, you can forget $60- if MS has a monopoly on PC gaming you're looking at a much higher number.

So much so that if that means taking a step back or simply pausing graphics quality for a while that would be a more acceptable than XBOXing PCs.

This is the argument Valve/etc. should be making- not talking about DX9 Vs. OGL.

Once again- what if the Linux OS is transparently part of the game and you can still launch from Windows?

Does blurring the line between the XBOX and the PC include paying M$ the royalties to publish games on a Windows PC that folks have to pay to publish on a XBOX? Do you think that maybe publishers will pass the costs of those royalties on to you?
