Heheh, cant believe that Blizzard is taking Diablo to consoles. After all that is wrong with that game, do they really want to alienate a WHOLE NEW MARKET? Ok with the console crowd you never know, and most of the people who will be playing probably werent even born when D1 was released....

Lets not forget this gem which actually turned out fairly well.

Also, note the publisher.

You soldiered through nearly four hours of Seth MacFarlane?

I would have curled up in the fetal position and die within minutes.

...they each have different voices, animations...

Needless expenditures which would be better placed elsewhere. No wonder Blizzard always play up the resource card in WoW if this is the kind of redundancy they throw money at.

Yup, I dropped some coin to deck out my storage container with nice, colorful tags. They need to make their money somehow.

At least the game they are making a movie on can lend itself to being open with many areas to explore and interpret rather than a closed-box theme most video game movies take.

...unless the director is a fucking idiot, throws all the source material out and does his own thing which makes no sense.

All hope now lies in the Crysis 2 mod, Aliens vs Marines, and a devoted fan which happens to look awesome.

Until it gets 95% done and is then told to cease and desist.

Gearbox probably used their E3 video as leverage to get the extra extension and used the same bait and switch tactic on SEGA in the same way they used it on fans. Otherwise, I seriously doubt they would be able to show anything else which wouldn't outright nullify their contract and the project being completely buried. Then again, I find it hard to believe SEGA would just go off of what Randy and the video were showing and okay it for release without looking in to it first.

I wonder if the Aliens RPG was destroyed of if it sits on a USB key in the back of a closet?

We can all thank SEGA for shit-canning this project and giving ACM a six-year development cycle.

Bet it doesn't look like such a good decision now, eh?

6. Re: Half-Life Update Causing Mod Issues? Feb 17, 2013, 22:30 Wallshadows

I heard it had to do with a new installation path from someone on Team Speak. If that's the case, wouldn't Valve have to edit the installer to its original path or is it an issue between the installation path between Windows and Linux?

Granted, this would wipe out the HL folder and force a reinstall if it makes sense outside of my head...

The Gearbox forums are so entertaining since the release, one particular long-running topic which has modified movie quotes to trash the game such as:

Ripley: Do me a favor and run this game for me will you..

Hicks: What do I do?

Ripley: Hit start- or a-button, what's a-button?

Hicks: Start campaign.

Ripley: That's it.

Hicks: Okay we're hooked, now what?

Ripley: Let it load the game.

Hicks: It's real bad graphics.

Ripely: Hit enhancement.

Ripley: Keep looking.

Hicks: I don't know how the play this stuff.

Ripley: Just shoot the aliens with your pulserifle. The AI should be really sophisticated like Randy told us.

Ripley: What is it?

Hicks: I think Randy lied to us.

Ripley: That's not possible. What does it look like?

Hicks: Horrible.

Ripley: Pause it!

Hicks: You don't want to look at it.

Ripley: PAUSE IT!!

*Ripley looks to monitor and sees terrible alien AI+graphics*

Hicks: I'm sorry.

It's built on the Unreal Engine 3 so there have been various tricks used to improve visuals based on what would work on other titles sporting the same engine. Programs such as SweetFX were released the day after ACM released which pushes it a little more in the direction of the demo footage as far as visuals are concerned.

Comparison shots are included on the website.

It's not much, but I'll install these goodies and see if they can at least make an impact on the atmosphere and setting.

Looking at my FB feed, people try way too hard to impress someone for one day like it's somehow more important than every other day.

Then again, I've never had someone to spend Valentine's Day with so maybe I'm simply more bitter and can't appreciate it properly.

But hey, PornHub is offering free premium subscription for the day for us fellas!

Steam-released system requirements:

Recommended:
OS: Operating System: Windows XP SP3/Vista/Windows 7
Processor: : 2.3 GHz Intel Quad Core Processor
Memory: 2GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX560/ATI Radeon HD 5850 (512 minimum)
DirectX®: 9.0c
Hard Drive: 20GB free hard disk space
Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible

Funny how my installation only shows 6.2GB installed. I guess the other 13.8GB just vanished in to thin air?

Yes, that's a very good site but always double check the date stamp of when the last update was made. I've run in to a couple threads which were picked up when the last update of the OP was greater than a week and was bumped by someone asking about availability.

Great site in any case! Pair it with http://www.poeex.info/ and you have a decent way to make a trade unless wants/needs is established as a buyout price.

Apparently so much of it was outsourced to various other studios it is barely able to be called a Gearbox game. Time gate supposedly did almost all the single player.

That may be the case but they're the ones who stamped Gearbox all over it and came up first in the credits. If someone wants to blame a movie for being bad, they don't wait until halfway through the credits, blame the scaffolding crew for making such a mediocre title and let everyone else off the hook.

Randy played it fast and loose with his dick out claiming this to be on the same level as Aliens and took any chance he could get to shoe-horn in the fact that it's a video game sequel to Aliens and now that the public is aware of the end product, pitchforks and torches.

Having played through the campaign, there are some exceedingly glaring issues which those who have not played are familiar with simply through copy/pasting what everyone else has said about the same which is fair as these patch notes show that it's a rough ticket. On the other hand, there were some missions which I thought were genuinely entertaining but I only found those midway through the game once Hadley's Hope opened up so for those who either only played the first 20 minutes or go off of what someone who only played it for the first mission says, you're missing quite a bit although that's not saying much in the grand scheme of things. It's something, I suppose...

The worst part about this game is the fact that they thought it was good enough to justify a 'meh' cliffhanger ending and that there would be a sequel.

Also, if Gearbox is responsible for the majority of the SP development (or 80% as randy said), it makes me wonder if Borderlands is something they just happened to luck in to or if they were in a DNF situation and were stuck with what they got from previous builds?
