Operation Raccoon City had so much potential to be a throwback to the yesteryear RE. They had a phenomenal amount of story to work with along with a great location but they pretty much pissed it all away by making a bad game.
Now, the only title I remain somewhat hopeful of is Revelations and that doesn't even have zombies in it and stars the terribly overused Jill Valentine.
The numbered series can pretty much drop the survival horror tag because it's such a fucking joke now. |

Pretty much what others have said.
They're getting good at making shitty, shiny 'new' games and they saw they couldn't do this anymore on current-generation consoles. Now they feel as though they can lead the PC community with a carrot on the stick to give the impression that they care when they will damn well play the piracy card once next gen comes out where the PC community which built them up are given bad ports to terrible games.
I'm not buying it and I say fuck 'em, even if they release a new Unreal title. |

Making anything new or innovative usually gets ignored by the masses and quickly sinks in to the bargain bin like Psychonauts. The adventure genre was usually on the ropes for a while even with titles like Escape from Monkey Island and The Longest Journey but now it just seems to instantly guarantee a title will flop regardless of how good it is.
If it doesn't have explosions or sword fights every two seconds, most will simply shrug it off but you give them a shitty CoD knockoff like Homefront and it still sells a million copies so there really is no reason to wander off the beaten path and take chances when you can just make the customers dance like seals while they hold a fish in the air. |

They always like to compare current raids to places like Molten Core. Well, it's been like 7 years since that shit was fresh and if you're slower at cranking out content than ever before, a light bulb should go off to find a solution to address this rather than write down how much they would like to do it. They've been doing that for years now, always quick to pull the resource card as a cock block method to deflect issues. It's not even quality content either in some cases (especially in Cata)! Rehashed ZA and ZG got stale quickly while you're still stuck with shitty old world models.
But hey! Blizzard would rather spend a fuckton of cash developing this pet battle system in the next expansion than update the models which they've been saying the same shit about for years of 'we'd love to....but we don't have the resources...!'.
I'm pretty sure it's the blind leading the blind at this point and they're all salivating over Greg Street's ass. He's going totally George Lucas.

Yeah, crazy weather out in the Maritimes too and we'll likely hit 15 tomorrow.
I kind of hate how winter is turning in to a prolonged fall/spring in this area. I love the snow but mother nature has been quite stingy with storms. When it does snow, it just rains like two hours later and turns the ground in to a gross shade of squishy brown and green. |

The Mayans never accounted for leap years and if we were to remove all the leap years since Caesar created them, our date today would be somewhere in 2013 and the world should have ended several months ago.
Oops. |

To put things in to perspective the Barringer Crater in Arizona was created by an object 50 meters in size and is one kilometer wide and 750 feet deep.
The explosion was equal to about 2 1/2 million tons of TNT or ~150 Hiroshima nukes. |

Reminds me of this video which was fueled by the layoff rumors in November of 2011.
Although with the looming release of Diablo 3, I'm also inclined to believe it's just following the natural cycle of game development to dump either redundant staffing or staff which no longer apply to the project.
Optional nickname wrote on Feb 29, 2012, 14:30: I am still not confident, that "the exciting news in the coming weeks re: D3's release date" will be about 'released' this year. I won't be surprised if its next Spring 2013. I would be willing to wait another month or two for them to integrate the online chat/social design from Diablo 2 in to Diablo 3 because the one they have now is atrocious.

So I decided to install PeerBlock and, of all things, it blocked a brief communication effort between my computer and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Japan.
Weird. |
