You have no first hand knowledge of what happened and your assumptions are way off, I was encapsulating a year long process into a tiny text blurb. It happened slowly over time, there were social dynamics involved and as a more casual guild we weren't really prepared for it. Hindsight is always 20/20. [/quote:

Not everyone has the time to put in for raiding, I understand that, and when you mix raiders with casuals (not bad players), it means divisions within the guild which always leads to drama and then collapse. Our guild eliminates this issue by using a type of questionnaire which allows us to find out if a player compliments our style of play and have had no issue with removing toxic players regardless of their ability. Some would say that's a bit much but our guild has been together since the start of TBC which lends me to believe this system works if used.

That said, I think it's a little silly to say that raiders ruin everything just like it's a little silly to say casuals ruin everything.

Fucking raiders ruin everything.

Raiders are not like ants.
Unlike ants, the raiders you describe were invited by your guild leader or an officer.
Unlike ants, your guild allowed them to bring others of their type.
Unlike ants, your guild let them destroy what you built

They were practically handed the keys to the kingdom and were allowed to do as they wanted. Instead of removing them for disrupting your style of play, you let them destroy it. This isn't an issue with raiders, this is more of an issue with the guild you were in to give them so much control.

Check out Grim Dawn , playing it right now actually

http://www.grimdawn.com/index.php

it's only alpha right now but the best ARPG since Diablo 2.

I'd totally be down to play Grim Dawn but the alpha isn't really worth it at the moment. If their beta introduces more content then I would throw money at it. Either way, it's a definite buy when it comes out.

As for PoE, I love the Scion so far with Spectral Throw. Looking forward to picking up a MLP or MP gem to really have some fun with it.

It wasn't exactly a full priced game. Plenty of games have been short with a minimal ending. Eye of the Beholder 1 had one of the shortest endings ever.

I can forgive an abrupt ending if we were talking about a NES game but this game really takes the cake as shown in the tied-in video.

Was this something that was only discovered after it went live on steam and purchasing the product or was it something the devs acknowledged prior to release or in a beta? They could have cut content elsewhere which had less of an impact on the game.

If I got roped in to this, I'd want a refund.

Edit: Not only was it hush hush until it hit Steam but it seems as though some are questioning whether or not this is the exact same copy sent to vloggers and such from some time ago with no updates.

The plot thickens?

They'll just cut them off by IP blocking them and banning whoever uses the product - as they do now.

They only ban the account. Blocking the IP address could potentially allow others within the household to be unable to play, it's far too easy to bypass due to dynamic addresses provided by the ISP, and it's not in their interest to shut down a system that could provide another future sale.

I am sure all five of those who use Linux as a gaming platform would be willing to hand over the money require to make a AAA title be Linux-compatible right out of the gate.

I kid. I kid.

Yeah, the quicktime events were still a pretty solid pain in the ass and I'm not keen on how they seem to have a hard on for Leon and Chris while leaving out other key players while creating new, boring types in the process. Ada, well, Ada has been a very bland character for quite some time now because she's essentially the same in every title. Yeah, I get it, she treads within a grey area of good and bad but it has become so boring and predictable that it makes me want to facepalm whenever Capcom tries to make a big deal about it and that we should be surprised.

As for the campaigns, some were definitely better than others. I really hated the Birkin/Muller story but I totally dug the Leon/Helena and Chris/Piers story because it felt much more urban, close-quartered, and relevant to the title. They weren't perfect, but being on the streets of DC (I think it was?) as the outbreak occurred while playing as Leon felt familiar, it felt good. I just wish the rest of the game took advantage of this angle as you crept from house to house and street by street to get from point A to point B but using less CoD elements where you took five steps and got swarmed by mobs.

Bad voice acting? Yeah, it's a RE game. It's not exactly Metal Gear Solid when it comes to the script or the voice-actors to back it up so it's not something I've ever dwelt on.

More action and less horror? Yeah, I'll agree to that but only to a point as the action events far outweigh the sense of dread you used to get from this series but it varies from campaign to campaign and the difficulty which you are playing in. The easier settings will have you drowning in ammo and health whereas the harder settings will require you to be extremely conservative with your ammunition to the point where melee weapons will look downright fantastic.

For me, this was the most enjoyable RE title I have played since CV in spite of its flaws. I really hate the amount of QTEs in the game, I really hate the Birkin/Muller story (zzzzz), and I really hate how it felt like CoD when in the urban environments but I found the good in the game to exceed the bad when played as a whole through several difficulties. It also brings back zombies (sort of).

Bear in mind, I am purposely biased against RE4/5 because, well, I just didn't really like the story, baddies, characters, or villains so don't take offense when I say RE6 is superior to 4 and 5 IMO.

I liked RE6. Felt closer to being an RE title than four and five, especially on the Leon campaign.

We acknowledge and thank you for paying to play our previous alpha and beta versions to help our team reach its goal to finally develop our AAA idea. Honestly.

The answer, to me, are to create community based tools to enable community based policing of this type of thing.

I don't think putting such a tool in the hands of the community would be such a great idea. Give it to the community and then all the sudden some of those who have influence on others will create a witch hunt for being butthurt because someone bruised their ego.

Unless you mean in the direction Cutter understood it and just gave the tools to outright ignore those players with no blacklist cap and an easier way of doing so. This I definitely support and is greatly needed in FF14.

As for how far they would go, that remains to be seen. For me, I've never stopped in any game to think whether or not I should enjoy it because of their political stance and the most scathing review I can provide is by not purchasing a product.

The icing on this cake will be whether or not they will drop their current MMO-style interface in favor of a more robust system such as that used in Diablo 2 since the game is returning to the barter system which will require the ability to advertise, create, and join games.

The infrastructure is already there to show them how it needs to be done. Just add a proper game list rather than the old system where it would only show like ten games which rotate on refresh.
