Sinister got some respect among critics for having some thoughtful elements and juicing a good performance out of Hawke. Wish it was someone else but this is probably better than expected, its not like the climate is right for Aronofsky to make a video game movie.

Depending on how much cash he gets (CBS Films doesn't really make blockbusters...) I would expect something along the lines of Looper in style and tone.

Yeah I was a little surprised too when I heard it. I remembered reading that figure a little while ago so I went to wiki for the comparisons I listed here and their source is the report I remember reading (here)
-which itself comes straight from the horse's mouth, a Blizzard earnings report.

It is selling for $40 ala carte. The $60 version is a lumped in with Wings of Liberty.

I don't think Blizzard has "learned" anything. Take Diablo 3. Despite having Ubisoft levels of atrocious DRM and STILL not being completed (PvP) it has sold in excess of 10 million copies. It sold better than Goldeneye, it sold better than Final Fantasy 7, it sold better than Halo 3. I didn't buy it by the way.

WOW is coming on 8 years now and its equilibrium is like 8 million subscribers.

Blizzard hasn't learned anything and we're not part of the conversation.

Personally, when HotS comes out I will do what I do with any game, read the reviews and see if its worth it.

I appreciate how forthcoming they are about their sales and what that means for them. Its very tiring how large companies are always playing the stock game and you never know whats going to happen with your favorite IPs.

If Icahn manages to take over Netflix that would be awful.

I've looked at Amazon's streaming library before. It doesn't hold a candle to the Flix. Unless you are a really big quantum leap fan of course.

I'm excited about a new generation. It says the final dev kit is in summer though. I wonder if they'll have enough time to synch things up for a holiday 2013 release. Seems a little close.

P.S. Very excited about seamless DLC purchases! Maybe they could replace the right trigger with a DLC button? So like if my horse feels underpowered or Batman just cant seem to deal with that knife guy I can press it and a sick guitar solo will engage as my credit card is picked clean.

Only 30 million subscribers? I'm surprised. Financial statements are always interesting. They raked in 2.6 billion but it cost them 2.609 billion to do it. Might explain the tepid stock price.

As shitty as Best Buy has insisted on being, I think it hurts us to lose one of the last brick and mortar tech chains.

Also, the extended fight not to submerge usually produces awesome sales. I picked up lots of games during Circuit City's death throws years ago.

Just monitors for peer to peer, and you get like 5 warnings to sort it out before they employ "mitigation measures" like connection slowdown. This is miles better than suing for $100,000 for an 8 song dl off of kazaa. 5 warnings should be more than enough for hardened pirates to find a way around it and should discourage casual piracy. My feelings are that having a tech savvy % of the population that engages in free flow of information is perhaps okay in some sense but not everyone should be able to do it easily.

Yeah TRU is just dumping stock. Everyone was yelling about the sale but if you hit the reddit boards its ten guys saying they were out to every one who picked something up. Probably most of the stock is being ebayed by the employees. Anyway, its not a real sale, just a flushing. However, games in generally fall very quickly in price now in days.

After 3 months they hit $20 and after 6 you can find $10. After a year, well, BF3 was $7.50 last weekend.

P.S. I feel sorry for the poor Best Buy employees who had to deal with the angry nerds storming the gates and demanding price matches. Not that they don't deserve it, but some of these penny saver guys describe driving to 5 different stores and making the managers call every TRU in the county. Some of they pulled it off though and got best buy to price match.

reduce, reuse, recycle! They're just following Captain Planet's lead on this one.

This map looked almost exactly like Havana, one of the original Blops maps (which they mention). I thought Blops was a little quirky but didn't see much of that flare in this video. I used to run around with the flame thrower and seeing that car come by every few minutes was fun. Unfortunately its built on the modern warfare gameplay that was officially done to death with MW2 so I couldn't even get through a minute without getting bored and skipping around in this video.

I still think Treyarch has come a long way though...

I think it would be easy to monetize an Esport. Run cash tournaments. Players pay in, top 3 place in the money and the house takes 40-60%. Poker is big now because its stupid easy to make money off of providing a thorough fair for greed.

I don't want to defend the middle east at all, but I think its worth noting Europeans did exceedingly grotesque things based on religion for most of their history. It's too bad our brothers on the equator haven't progressed but history suggests that blood feuds and violent rhetoric are sort of the default. As to why countries in the Middle east aren't progressing in social policy, consider the fact that Pakistan, for instance, has roughly 2/3 of the USA's population but about 1% of its GDP.

1. PS3 Super Slim retails at £185 in the UK. Sep 19, 2012, 18:27 Cyanotetyphas

Universities should really offer a degree called "Thinnerizing Studies" or maybe "Slimchutecture" to train the future workforce of all these tech companies.

The first PS3 was big enough that it could probably be used as a chair for a child, so I don't begrudge progress.

Ah SC2. I remember reading somewhere that they were going to hit the $40 price point on this one, but I don't remember where so that might have been speculation.
SC2 is the Counterstrike of the RTS genre. No frills, not terribly friendly, honestly doesn't even run that well for what it is, but incomparable competitive play. It's all about precision, split second decisions, and execution. There's a story but I think Blizzard is just going to jerk you around for awhile before finishing their retread of Supreme Commander's arc. Those FMVs are nice though. Also there is a casual bullshit mode, its the custom games, or Arcade now. Play some footie wars, run some TDs, there's probably a wierd mod based on a sci fi property you like. I recommend having the TV on in the background.

But yeah, single player was more like a scenario generator. Try to keep it interesting since so many people were coming in with high skill levels. As much fun as build up and roll out is they only gave a few of those.

I don't have an opinion on ESPORTS gET IN THE GAME but the ladder works pretty well actually. If its not your thing its not your thing though.
