just one reason why mcchrystal's "long term counter insurgency" plan was absolute horse shit from the start. professional soldiers are not professional police. the lack of precision being demonstrated in their attacks on "insurgents" has resulted in thousands of civilian casualties (what was it, 140 in garani alone when they bombed it?)

all our military has done is sow new hates that will last for decades more. obama should have listened to his vastly more experienced vice president when he told him "counter insurgency" was going to go this way.

brad manning was doing a public fucking service, showing the world what an utter cluster fuck american presence in iraq is, and now he's looking at 70 years. i hope people don't forget the one responsible for turning him in is adrian lamo because he needs to be remembered as a traitor.

Avoid this like the plague, because the Incisor sniper rifle is a GARGANTUAN piece of shit in-game.

Creston

if it's the same as the preorder incisor that's just not true. it doesn't scale down it's damage when you put it on your squad like other guns do, which turns you into a death dealing wolf pack.

it would never happen, anyway. how often is a star franchise entrusted to some filthy gaijin like us?

i'm not sure if i'd want it to happen regardless. chris avellone is one of the few people alive who i think would write a stellar fucking plot for it but the rest of obsidian needs to get their shit together and release a coherent game for once.

last i heard, it was being directed by gore verbinski which sounds good to me. people thought his last movies would be a flop, too: the ones based on a disney ride about pirates, perhaps you've heard of them.

People like the Afghanistan war. It's not very controversial. All the major Presidential candidates said they were fine with that war, for example.

Not so much with the Iraq war...

i'm not so sure. for instance, modern warfare takes place in unspecifiedistan, they were smart.

it's all about presentation. as long as medal of honor remains vaguely non-specific with it's battle, all is well. average folks know afghanistan is a current global hotspot in a general way.

"six days in fallujah" came right out swinging, even with it's name, claiming to be an accurate representation. when it comes to action shooters i feel like a certain amount of vaguery is necessary. when you're naming specific locations, battles and casualties it kind of feels exploitative. it's all especially weird when i can still hide to regenerate my health.

my gmail is linked to my youtube account and i do not see any such panel, only one for youtube's message system.

the article is inflammatory and empty anyway; it basically says "if you let someone use your computer while you're logged into services, they can access them too! whomg"

everyone trying to cash in on the current facebook-fueled privacy hysteria.

i'd like to hear how pc gaming "won" when all of those titles are ports or cross-developed except the 2 rts games.

i love gaming on my pc but these articles always come across as so desperate and pathetic.

i think the suicides at the foxconn factory that makes iphones peaked in the 20s so far this year.

sometimes i feel weird that what i look back on fondly as "the good old days" chiefly concern my exploits in virtual worlds, killing thousands.

“American Hero”? “Poor Kid”? Pffft.

Dirtbag’s a criminal and no better then a spy. Through his actions (which weren’t just a one-time-thing or something on a lark, this was a long-term plan on his part) he may have put the safety and lives of his fellow servicemen and women at risk.

If you’re political opposed to the conflict in Afghanistan or Iraq, don’t join the Armed Forces in the first place. He wasn’t drafted. He chose his own fate. His wasn’t manipulated into anything.

He deserves a fair trial. And if he’s guilty, he should spend the rest of his life breaking big rocks into smaller rocks in a military prison for a very, very long time.

you don't exist.

Unlike either of those games, this games flawed parts never combine to make a decent title. The shitty voice acting, embarrassingly bad combat system and caveman stealth never come together and become enjoyable. This game is a design disaster that deserved to be better and it's a shame it never will be.
i felt this way at first and was ready to put it down for good, but once you get past the intro levels of saudi arabia i think the game really comes into it's own. i feel it's a combo of the "raw" gameplay without skills or abilities fucking sucks mixed with saudia arabia being really poorly designed and not the best showcase for the game's strengths.

i also thought the voice acting was very good, the cast has several industry vets. thorton himself annoys me sometimes with his utter blandness but he fucking aces some fantastic lines. no different than shepard from mass effect, really.

it does make me wonder what the FUCK obsidian was doing with the 10 month delay. were they working on it that whole time, or just sitting on it to avoid competition? and if they were really working on it, how big a mess was it before? this could have been your mainstream fucking breakout, you stupid bastards.

that's not too surprising since once you're in, the military owns you body and soul.

i don't know how i feel about the alleged "260,000" diplomatic cables but this guy was doing a public service and adrian lamo is a fucking disgrace. this 22 year old kid now potentially faces life imprisonment or execution for treason (OHH HOW TERRIBLE I GUESS I DIDN'T THINK ABOUT IT fucking blithering retard, god he's just so fucking clueless it makes my head spin).

Imagine a company not wanting its employees telling customers how to pay less. As far as I can tell, employees aren't to suggest a customer cuts an extra that they're paying for but don't use. I would sooner call the customers idiots for needing to be told before calling the company any more greedy than companies big and small throughout the world.
did you even read the article? verizon doesn't even want their csr's to tell the customer they can get credits for services they discontinue, they have to be implicitly requested. they are also to never suggest discontinuing a service, even if they know it's superfluous.

you suggest we blame customers because they're "too stupid" to avoid being lied to and deliberately misled, by a company they're paying to provide them with service?

i'd always disliked lieberman but could never really remember why. having read the article from 2000 blue posted i recall that was the reason, his and gore's promising a bandwagon moral panic crusade against bad stuff as a campaign issue.

"We need this capacity in a time of war. We need the capacity for the president to say, 'Internet service provider, we've got to disconnect the American Internet from all traffic coming in from another foreign country, or we have to put a patch on this part of it'."
why, exactly? miss the good old days where the military complex controlled the flow of propaganda news from the front? it's not like america at large even cares about the videos on wikileaks demonstrating american soldiers perpetrating frequent murder of civilians, don't sweat it so much joe.

bobby kotick literally epitomizes why the economy went in the shitter: the expectation-- no, the demand of profit increases every quarter, no matter the cost.
