FWIW, I'm sick to death of flaky games that use the Unreal engine, Bioshock 2 hardly ran. Epic and their arrogant employees can suck it.

I don't know about most evil, but it seems like they caught a bad case of 'EA envy'.

Razer still hasn't managed to launch their XBox controller, announced a year ago this month. I'm beginning to think Microsoft is trying to piss all over the Onza - for what ever reason.

(FWIW, I'm only interested because crappy console ports are best played with a console controller and Microsoft can eat a cock.)

As far as I know, Thief 3 is still hopelessly broken if you have an ATI video card and a modern operating system. I did my bit, I bitched about it endlessly. At this point I'm not sure who I'm more disgusted with, Eidos, AMD or Epic (and their insufferable Unreal engine).

I have to say, the level of cynicism here is just astounding...

...and heartening. Almost to a man, everyone recognizes Microsoft's deceits and deceptions. It brings a little tear to my eye.

At least Deus Ex: Human Revolution looks like it could be a really good game - and it will be available on PC.

As you said, details are scant but do you think the "standard" MMO approach -- power and capabilities are dependent on performing endless and repetitive ritualistic murder of innocents -- is the approach you would prefer?

Actually, performing endless and repetitive ritualistic murder of innocents sounds pretty sweet, but it's your alternative not mine. Also, it's not really what I'm talking about. EVE limits what you can do according to how many months/years you've spent training skills. As a method of retaining players over the long term, I'm sure it's most effective, but it's also very restrictive and a deterrent to new players entering the game. It's one of the main reasons I don't play EVE. I just don't like being penalized for jumping around between half a dozen MMO's. On the other hand, if the game is "That Good", I might not mind playing it exclusively for a few years.

FWIW: I wouldn't be at all surprised if CCP plans to use this method to create some sort of Generational mechanic. How it would mesh with the Canon might be a problem (and what about Diablerie?), but it could be made to work.

Details are scant, but I'm not sure this game will have a great appeal to any of the many potential audiences. As a fan of the two previous Vampire cRPG's I'm less than enthusiastic. I'm not sure politics, chatting and emote macros constitutes a game - at least not a game I'm interested in playing.

It occurs to me that CCP may implement a system where your character's power and capabilities are dependent on maintaining an active account - similar to how training in EVE takes place. Let me be the first to say how much I think that idea Sucks.

I remember their past PC gaming efforts: like that "too advanced for anything but Vista" Masterpiece - Alan Wake. Call me skeptical.

Puh-leeese, Obsidian dumped this on Sega as soon as they meet their contractual obligations. How do you think they've managed to get Fallout: New Vegas out the door so soon after this game's release? (Of course, F:NV could be a buggy mess too, Bethesda's not above dumping an un unfinished game on the market)

One of the biggest problems with this game is level distribution - there are never enough players at a given level to do group content. It amounts to being locked out of most of the best content in the game. It will be nice if FtP populates the servers. I've played this game on and off for over a year and I've never made it past that damned tree in Garth Agarwen.
