So, they expect sell a book based upon a game that (essentially) no will have played up to that point...I can't be the only one who finds that utterly asinine.

Uh, in AC you can't manually jump. Traversal is completely automated. You hold down a couple of buttons and your character runs, jumps, climbs, swings, hops and rolls for you. You just have to point him the general direction you want to go. That's one of my biggest gripes with the series. I like having absolute control over my character and AC simply automates too many things.

Sounds like Dragon's Lair come full circle

NASA Scientist Claims Evidence of Alien Life on Meteorite

Might want to warn people that's a Foxnews link. I'm sure I'm not the only one who detests Foxnews and don't want to even accidentally give them page views.

Better coverage at http://news.discovery.com/ under Space news (direct article URL too long, sorry)

Exactly. Not a fan of the anime art style. Maybe Asians feel a need to swing ridiculously over-sized weapons about but I'm perfectly happy with what's behind my zipper and think that crap just looks goofy.

Diet soda tied to stroke risk, but reasons unclear.

The "reason" is correlative, not causative. People who drink diet soda are concerned about their weight. If they are concerned about their weight it's likely with good reason, i.e. they are heavy. If they are heavy, they have an increased risk of heart disease and stroke.

Is the logic really so torturous that this needs to be explained?

They won't do that (even though it makes sense) because that would take giant shit on those people who did pay $50.

I'm going to make a prediction, 8 months after STO goes f2p Cryptic will be shutdown and their games will be sold off to SOE. To me, the only variable is how long it's going to take them to admit people won't pay a sub for STO.

So, according to the news blurb, infrastructure (population) costs has increased x4 while revenue has only increased x2? More players are great, but only if you can monetize them.

This company, TopWare, uses ACS:Law to threaten to sue people accused of downloading their games. Just thought I'd throw that out there for anyone considering supporting legalized extortion through "pay-up" letters. I don't really care what the inevitable defenders will say, it's a scummy tactic that's been proven to target innocent, non-offenders.

At least he got some money out of it which is more than QOL will have in the 6 months or so it takes them to accept reality and shut down the game. What a horrible PoS.

All the drama associated with this game reminds me of 2 starving jackals having a tug of war over the scrawny, dessicated carcass of a rabbit. No matter who won, neither one is going to get a meal worth the effort.

As much as I'm for consumer rights and fairness in action, I feel about as sorry for people who bought into this as I feel for people who purchased lifetime subscriptions for Hellgate: London, Champions Online and Star Trek Online.

I consider it stupidity fine and have little sympathy.

Date rape simulators are apparently A-Ok as well.
