I would guess that at some point they will merge all 3 games into one world environment, ala WWII Online. That would seem to be the logical progression.

I seem to remember that Adobe Air installs a lot of unwanted crap on your system, like a few services or other start ups and I had trouble getting rid of it. Anyone know? I just remember it making me really angry for some reason.

The change from Sci-Fi to Syfy was done for one simple reason - they couldn't trademark Sci-Fi as it's a generic descriptive term for a genre. Yes, I agree that they haven't actually been about sci-fi for a long time now but that was not the reason for the name change. |

What constitutes "use"? Is it satisfied by just logging into the account or is it tied to having made a purchase or paid a subscription fee in a 24 month time frame?
If the former, not a huge deal but if the latter then that's fairly fucked up and would cause me to seriously rethink my intention to purchase SWTOR.

No you won't. You'll buy it, guaranteed.
Also, is LAN play really required nowadays? Internet connections are plenty fast - especially for a game like this. You could not be more wrong, Son. I would feel dirty buying this and I know better after long years of forums wars to try and argue principles with those who lack them. It's like trying to talk to someone who has their hands clapped over their ears saying "Na Na Na, I can't hear you".
Revel in your stupidity, fool. |

It's a decent shooter and that's pretty much all it is. Flight model is very arcade-like. Those looking for an actual sim will not find it.
Crafting is simplistic in the extreme, to the point I wouldn't even call it that.
Exploration is non-existent from what I saw of the beta.
PvP is apparently non-consensual once you leave the prologue (level 6 or so I think it was). Trying to complete PvE missions in open world zones was a trial with higher level roving gangs of gankers making things unenjoyable.
I'm not really into forced PvP so this was a game killer for me personally. I can see why they do it because without it the game has no longevity otherwise, but I think even people who do like PvP will find the unrestricted gankage will get old, fast.

Hellgate done correctly could be a good game. Certainly could have been, I'm not sure why they (Failship Studios and now this Dev) keep trying to shoe-horn this into an MMO.
HG:L should be a simple SP/COOP game and you pay for expansion(s) just like Diablo 2 and the other ARPG's have done. If they would have not worried about putting in an MMO $$$ layer and concentrated on game play this could have been a Diablo killer. This "MMO" offers nothing more then what you can get with Diablo 2 and Battle.net.
From what I have read, this "new" HG:L isn't really much different from what Failship produced, so not much interest from me. Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out how this an MMO as opposed to, well pretty much every other multiplayer/coop out there. There is no common world (unless partied/same instance), just tiny little shared town spaces.
MMORPG.com is apparently hellbent on including it in coverage, despite never being able to answer (and I have tried many times to get one) the question of why they are covering it as it isn't an MMO by any reasonable definition.

I haven't seen this reported yet but I received an email Friday from Codemasters saying that they also have been hacked:
Dear valued Codemasters customer,
On Friday 3rd June, unauthorised entry was gained to our Codemasters.com website. As soon as the intrusion was detected, we immediately took codemasters.com and associated web services offline in order to prevent any further intrusion.
During the days since the attack we have conducted a thorough investigation in order to ascertain the extent and scope of the breach and have regrettably discovered that the intruder was able to gain access to the following:
Codemasters.com website
Access to the Codemasters corporate website and sub-domains.
DiRT 3 VIP code redemption page
Access to the DiRT 3 VIP code redemption page.
The Codemasters EStore
We believe the following have been compromised: Customer names and addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, encrypted passwords and order history. Please note that no personal payment information was stored with Codemasters as we use external payment providers, meaning your payment details were not at risk from this intrusion.
Codemasters CodeM database
Members' names, usernames, screen names, email addresses, date of birth, encrypted passwords, newsletter preferences, any biographies entered by users, details of last site activity, IP addresses and Xbox Live Gamertags are all believed to have been compromised.
Whilst we do not have confirmation that any of this data was actually downloaded onto an external device, we have to assume that, as access was gained, all of these details were compromised and/or stolen.
The Codemasters.com website will remain offline for the foreseeable future with all Codemasters.com traffic re-directed to the Codemasters Facebook page instead. A new website will launch later in the year. |

Seriously? XD They were originally named Wizards and changed it to Sorcerer (really). I personally would have gone with Adept as that would convey the proper meaning without using a term normally associated with fantasy.

Having recently come off the faster paced combat of Rift, this just looks painfully clunky and slow. Hope the story is good.

The Templar looked utterly useless. No damage and wasn't grabbing any agro I could see. I didn't see any armor slots, just jewelery. I sure hope that equipment customization isn't limited to jewelery and weapons.
