Just more ammo for the next CISPA-like bill unfortunately.

It should also be noted they have the singular honor of being the only 2 years running winner.

Facebook gets OK to build second campus in Menlo Park.

The expansion before the collapse, which is typical of large corporations. They're like stars and FB has entered its red giant phase.

"Our team is constantly investigating hypotheticals like this one as we continually update our security infrastructure."

Seeings as how they became aware of this through a demonstration, I would say it's no longer "hypothetical".

And then there's the brilliant firetrucks. 3 houses are on fire on the same road. 3 fire trucks are dispatched. The first firetruck stops at the first house on fire. Firetrucks 2 and 3 are now stuck behind firetruck 1 and can't get to houses 2 and 3, which burn down.

That's pretty damn funny. Such an easy fix too, first truck out heads to the farthest fire, 2nd truck to the next furthest etc..

I used to hate those damned My Clean PC commercials, but I've taken to substituting "pussy" for "pc" when I hear it and it suddenly becomes comedy gold.

It's always funny how lack of foresight and incompetent coding becomes an "exploit" when people find it.

That was very...shiny. Not to my taste at all and yeah, looks like a console game. If it looks like a console game it likely plays like one as well.

Exactly, it's precisely BECAUSE they are so dominant that they can pull something like soldering the proc to the mboard. Proc swappers are a tiny minority of Intel's business. It's like telling Chevy they're done b/c they're only going to offer Corvettes in one trim level instead of the current 7.

The thing no one seems to take into account is that the proc swapper/enthusiast crowd comprise a disproportionately large number of people who either make business purchasing recommendations or directly control the purse strings. So yes, it's a small overall demographic but one that has an exceptionally large influence on corporate purchasing.

The ability to replace only the CPU or MB on failure of one or the other is a cost savings consideration as well.

Since they are all hellbent on prohibiting photography, can we safely assume they are covering the entire base with an IR reflective tarp each time a satellite pass occurs?

Any hostile organization wanting to know the layout of the installation need only crack open Google Earth.

What idiocy.

Cisco VP to memo leaker: Finding you is now 'my hobby'

You know, if I were really sneaky and trying to track down a leak I would send all future memos BCC and have several versions of the memo with the wording differing only slightly in content, say even one word or space placement.

This way, you could divide up the recipients into distribution groups, giving each a slightly differing memo. You could then tell which group the leaker belongs to and further divide that group into pools using future leaks. Done correctly, you should be able to nail them in as few as 3 leaks or so.

We are so fucked and Obama, Herald of the Police State, will be re-elected because his opponent is every bit as bad as he is and an idiot to boot.

Voting Ron Paul as a matter of principle, even if it's a futile gesture.

My current GPU is NVidia. My last 2 were ATI but they have such consistent driver problems that I finally gave up on them. After 2 or 3 driver updates, the driver and CCC would refuse to install, forcing me to do a lot of reg hacking and other measures to fix it until the next update. This was after ALWAYS using the ATI clean uninstaller between updates.

The hardware was fine and always at a good price point vs. performance but having to dread every update just became more trouble than it was worth.
