News Comments > DCS Su-27 Trailer
2. Re: DCS Su-27 Trailer Nov 11, 2014, 09:45 InBlack

The F15C will probably happen at some point, the F18C is coming (although we can forget about it for the following year at least) the last two have too many classified systems and as such do not fit into the DCS philosophy of being a highly accurate systems and aerodynamic simulation.

I love the AFM of the F15C and can't wait for the SU-27. Definitely the most beautiful jet fighter plane ever built.

There are rumours that Leatherneck is building the F14, makes sense that they finally managed to get some solid 'real' usable info on it since it's been retired for years now. Now that would be a plane I would love to try in DCS.

Yeah, funny shit. It doesnt even look that spectacular anyway. Its just a poorly optimised piece of shit console port. I remember the last generation 'round how poorly optimised some of those ports were for PC hardware that was arguably much more powerful. History repeating itself is nothing new though. Humans are stupid.

JESUS...just the phrase "system shock" made me do a triple take!

Anyone tried it?

Im tempted. I never did play the reskined SS2 which was quite an upgrade over vanilla. Damn if I have the time to fish out my original discs and update with all the relevant mods and patches though. Recently getting the best Skyrim experience possible took me a few days to setup properly and was a huge pain in the ass. I shudder to think of tackling with this old monster.

Im tempted to just pirate the best modded version (if it exists as a torrent somewhere, that too is doubtful)

Banks were never fully de-regulated or 'free market' they just sloppily removed critical parts of regulation because they finance industry has far too much influence of our government. The house of cards that all regulations are, crumbled quickly. Instead of taking it as an example that regulations can be dangerous, many people seemed to take it as the opposite.

We haven't had free market monies or finance here in a very long time.

It's so funny that you can make statements like this while decrying "socialism" because your essential argument--"The free market never really failed because it wasn't really a free market!"--is the EXACT SAME argument a diehard Leninist would make for the failure of communism! "Communism never really failed because there never really was a true communist state!"

Oh, the irony ...

Except its not the same. Not that Im giving creedence to LittleMe's theory or anything, Im just saying that for all intents and purposes the free-market is pretty much what we have right now and it hasnt really failed. It's working out great for the 1%!
As far as Communism is concerned its doing pretty well for itself in China.

I'm confused by your opposition to this LittleMe. It's clear you are against how corporate interests in government have led to anti-consumer monopolies - "Corporatism" as you are calling it. If the FCC does what the POTUS is advocating it would eliminate that from how the internet is run at least. I could see you being opposed to that if you held the view that as businesses internet providers have the right to charge those who use the most bandwidth more, but I'm not hearing that as your stance. Net Neutrality would essentially remove the ability for corporations to be the final arbiter of information on the internet, which based on what you have written seems it would be something you would support.

Littleme is very paranoid about the US government. He fears it to such an extent that he will completely disregard all of his (mostly valid) own points on the power of corporatism in the world and actually completely contradict himself in many instances. It's very difficult to stay rational for very long when you are driven by irrational beliefs. This is common with religious nuts, conspiracy theorists and basically anyone who tends to twist facts around to fit into their vision of the world, rather than the other way around.

Honestly, I'd like to see a spaghetti western setting. That's one era in FPS that hasn't really been explored very much and I think it would make for some good laughs like Blood Dragon.

Now that, would be awesome.

We keep harping on about gameplay here around Blues a lot. Myself included. Gameplay is important, but what is more important is fun. I had a lot of fun playing Blood Dragon. It was tongue in cheek, blast from the past, tacky sci-fi 80's parody and it was fun. I blasted through that game with a smile on my face from start to finish. It wasnt a perfect game, far from it, but it had potential. Which is exactly why I think it deserves a sequel.

It's been a long time since I've played a CoD, but didn't CoD 4 have dedicated servers? I seem to remember the server/client setup and the browser were pretty robust, unless I was still using All Seeing Eye to find games back then.

How the hell have they fallen backwards so much for these later games?

CoD4:Modern Warfare (the first one) did indeed have dedicated servers. No dedicated servers, no sale and Kevin Spacey be damned!

How's this for a first world problem:

On a scale of 1 - 10 where 1 would represent a borderline third world problem this would have to rate pretty high. Somewhere around an 8.5 methinks.

It got old by the end and I would rather see them give something else a send up.

You could say the same thing about Duke3d. It got old by the end. Most FPS outstay their welcome with regards to their single player campaign. Although the BloodDragon campaign was even a little too short for my tatste so I dont get this point that much. It was way better than every single Far Cry game except for maybe the first one. It needs a sequel, a proper one at that and maybe even a nice competitive multiplayer mode. Also, Michael Biehn!!!

People have NO CLUE how utterly dangerous Ebola is, you go to heavily infected countries (for any reason) and come back, you BET you better be quarantined.

We get ONE case here and it shuts down the entire hospital damn near, flights, busses, places visited. Nurses, doctors, workers you think they're gonna stick around for long? Would you?

It's something you don't mess with, and these selfish ass whiners can go fuck themselves (science based my ass, almost nothing is scientifically proven about ebola, however we DO factually know transmission in up to 12% of cases can no show no symptoms for much longer than 21 days, can live on dry surfaces for several days and has a 75% kill rate. ONE slipped case has the potential to kill many innocent people.

And now we have Obama stopping the media from reporting almost everything about ebola, which is why it seems to have "gone away". Inept, incompetent president on every level -- You all better pray it doesn't spread, forget panic - just be smart and use your head. Now is NOT the time for bullshit political correctness.

Man you have some serious issues. If you are going to bring up statistics how bout you bring up virulence. You have no clue what Im talking about do you?

Wow, how generous of you Craptivision! A pittance while you make billions. And that says nothing of how distasteful it is trying to use this as a marketing platform in the first place, or the propaganda you engage in on behalf of the military and MIC. How many dead people are out there because you try and make war look like a cool game?

Middlefinger

In my mind games like Call of Duty are far more dangerous to the development of young minds than games like Postal because of the reasons Cutter mentioned.
