I played the closed alpha and there were plenty of negatives unfortunately. True Sight system sucks and ruins the RPS and territory control they had going on. There was plenty of stuff I liked but they added a fair amount of pointless changes for the sake of making changes. Many of the changes made are some token effort at 'realism' and just makes the gameplay tedious. We gave them a lot of feedback so maybe they will get things fixed up for release.

On a related note, the price of ArmaIII will increase as the beta and the final release come out. The alpha is pretty much priced at half the price of the full game when it comes out. I can say that if the prospect of ArmaIII interests you to get it right now. When I got ArmAII at release I didn't find it too fun until a dozen patches later. I'm already finding A3 fun despite being an alpha.

And the graphics, holy fuck these graphics.

You've just made the wait for the end of the day at work a lot harder.

For all those who did not experience the clusterfuck of D3 and still preordered this game (or bought it at release) I seriously hope this game is as good as the "glowing" (pre)reviews are touting it. Somehow Im having doubts about that. I really do hope its a worthy successor, but Im going to wait and see. Or rather wait and hear word-of-mouth.
