Smashing Pumpkins are (were?) cool.
With regards to the story, no fucking shit sherlocks. You get angry when you fail. End of story. |

Optional nickname wrote on Apr 3, 2013, 09:13: The reason D3 is here to stay, is because the game was tailored to the WoWtards, that have nothing to really complain about this game. This is the great divide that has put the stake in the heart for me, (the RMAH is secondary) but the utter disgrace that WoW tarnished the essence of Diablo, is what makes me sad the most.
Has anyone recently watched the Diablo 2 cinematic, or ever seen it? You know, the dark wanderer? Please review it, and see, why Diablo 3 and the Whimsyshire lolipop guild of followers, is an epic slap in the face of all proportions.
Can you tell I despise world of warcraft? I agree. All the problems seem to stem from the same source. |

PS4 is like 'a really perfect gaming PC,' says Epic VP. What a wonderful selling point! So I can replace the video card every few years? And add more ram? Torrent? email?
Another epic fail from Epic. |

| So now that THQ has gone the tubes. Where exactly is Relic? And who owns them again? (Or are they independent but just had a publishing deal with THQ??) |

If you dont punish them for it by not buying any new stuff from them then you basically say its ok you can release crap games and we totally forgive you. So they release an awesome game in Borderlands 2, and a shitty one in Colonial Marines, and because Colonial Marines was shitty you're not supposed to buy Borderlands 2 stuff, even if you really enjoy it? I fail to see the logic here.
DON'T buy Colonial Marines, DO buy Borderlands 2, and you'll send them the message that when they make a good game, it'll sell.
Creston Like they dont know that. Please. They dont deserve a single cent for any of their games, not after the A:CM fiasco. But people will forget, just like they forgot after Duke, and in a few years Gearbox will once again aquire a great IP and release a steaming pile of shit in a box. This seems to be their speciality, I consider Borderlands a fluke, or rather an exception that proves the rule. |

Well I was going to add something to the discussion but the invocation of Godwin's law clearly forbids me to add anything of relevance. |

Armengar wrote on Apr 3, 2013, 04:53: <sigh> diablo2 =/= diablo3 diablo3 was NEVER ever going to be "diablo2 with better graphics". diablo 3 was always going to be a different style of game with some core similarities.
diablo3 was different and worked for some people and not for others. I *did* play battle.net diablo2 . LOD was released a year after D2? I cant remember exactly as I didnt buy it on launch (unlike D2). D2 wasnt exactly multiplayer sparkling on launch either. There were just as many bots, item hacks and dupes - more so that D3 IMHO. I still remember my games getting visits from bots constantly. Not so on D3 anymore.
diablo3 was ok for me. Ive said this time and time again, for the price I paid I have more than gotten enough entertainment out of it. If you dont like it then dont play it. Indeed, haters are gonna hate. Worst of all are the D3 defenders who love to bring up the fact that D3 isnt D2. Well DUH! Jesus fucking capital H. christ, way to miss the entire point of my post. Its not about "Diablo2 with better graphics" we didnt want Diablo2, we wanted a game built FROM Diablo2, just like Diablo2 was built from Diablo1, a game that took systems which have been perfected and tuned and then built upon those. Not a game that threw away EVERYTHING that made the Diablo games great and then decided to do its own thing ALA Diablo...if you cant resolve the point Im trying to make here then please go back to playing Diablo3.

| Its kind of ironic that in the example of the great national sport that the english invented, you mention two players who both play their football in Spain and are Brazillian and Argentine respectively. |

I welcome imporvements and still enjoy the game from time to time. Bats have you played any Diablo2: LoD on battle.net ever? Im guessing the answer is no. Because all of these features and many more were present in the previous game. We dont hate for hates sake. We hate because of the utter stupidity with which Blizzard destroyed its best IP and caused so much hurt to its most devoted fans. |

| To be fair, Vista was a fair bit worse when it arrived. At least things more or less work with W8, it just suffers from a UI designed for brain dead retards. Man I hated Vista... |

I really dont understand by what you mean when you put work in parenthesis. How exactly do you slack off on your email account?? By replying to Joe Spam from Nigeria???
The telephone is just as useful in business situations, but as someone who works in that kind of environment, having email skills is like 99% of any kind of job where you need to have any kind of significant contact with a large number of people.
Email is NOT A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME, its nowhere near it and anyone who tries to tell you that is lying through their teeth or is computer illiterate. |

Iteration? Iteration motherfucker? So explain to me how the fuck you iterated from DiabloII to this goddamn mess.... Do you really need an explanation? 12 years in development never makes a good game. It doesn't give you time to perfect an idea, it gives you time to completely forget the reason you started. Thats not an explanation. Thats an excuse. |

What I would give to be able to go to that GDC talk!!!
Goddamn I would wait for question time with ninja patience and then I would let rip....especially after reading this bit (from the talk writeup):
Blizzard has a number of game design values. A postmortem on the development of Diablo III gives us an opportunity to see these game design values in action. Values such as “Control is King,” “Avoid the Grand Reveal,” and “What is the Fantasy.” Ultimately these values are driven by iteration. Iteration? Iteration motherfucker? So explain to me how the fuck you iterated from DiabloII to this goddamn mess.... |
