NBA2K14 looks great, and plays well in quickplay mode. Really buggy sadly, and the introduction of VC (microtransactions) to MyGM (association) mode hurts the quality of the game.

EA needs to step up, and put some competitive pressure on 2K. I wouldn't recommend 2K14 (or 15) if nothing changes.

Having played every NBA 2k game since 8, i have to say this is the worst one. Also i dont think the PC even got 1 patch yet, let alone those 'next gen' graphics for those 2 year old console hardware that just came out. There Its all been downhill since NBA 2k11

News Comments > Hearthstone Open Beta Delayed
4. Re: Hearthstone Open Beta Delayed Dec 20, 2013, 12:17 dj LiTh

Funny thing is i've been wanting to try this for awhile, low and behold i searched my email and found a beta invite from october! Loaded it up 2 nights ago and played for about a day. Pretty good, but its very grindy. Also its practically pay2win UNLESS you play arena, which requires 150 gold, well if you dont do the dailies thats 45wins (not games) needed to get that much gold. Which is a pitty because arena mode is actually very good (since everyone is choosing from the same card pool)

With the amount of stuff they want to put into this game I am not surprised.
Not sure why all the hate towards this game though? It made a ton of cash and they have big dreams that will take more than a lot of cash to accomplish.

You cant blame the fans and you cant blame the skeptics. Most of them want the game to succeed and most of them want him to actually produce something. When you promise the moon and dont deliver who exactly is at fault and for what reason??

Honestly i dont think anyone WANTS this game to fail. I mean who wouldnt love whats being promised? Its more akin to dont raise your hopes so you wont be completely shattered if it fails (which seems more likely then being 'One game to rule them all').

Your jokes would be funny if they were based in reality. Adding more people to a project slows it down in the short term rather than speed it up. It's much worse when it's multiple teams in different locations. That's absolute truth in the software industry and that's part of his explanation for the delay.

________

He explains that the overabundance of funding they received has allowed them to proceed faster than anticipated, which, counterintuitively means they are delaying the dogfighting module they intended to be one of the first elements of the game released to the public.

Ya reading is hard...

So the aussie's have the new R18+ which is for adults only, and still need to censor it? Do they have diapers on their kangaroo's to so they are rated 'G' for everyone as well?

Ouch! While i was fervently against the game from its announcement i still dont like to hear people losing their jobs.

Absolutely, something they'll both have in common i have no doubt. Might as well ducktape your forhead to your LCD screen and snort a few crushed up pills of dram amine to see if you can acclimate now lol

I woulda paid full price for the game with Alpha access, why are they limiting the people to test it out grrr

Almost certain because it was a kickstarter project, so they have to match the prices for the tier for alpha access.

I've already fixed this problem with StartIsBack, seamless integration into the OS, doesn't run as a background program or service.

Proper Start menu on Windows 8. $3 bucks and done.
Yeah, that's what I got and love it. Boots to desktop and that's where I stay.

The app boots you right into desktop? How? The login screen is in metro isn't it? Or is it somehow skipping that?

I dont have the app, just 8.1 and i boot straight to desktop as well. As for a login screen, i've never had to 'login' to win8 (that goes for 8.0 and 8.1)

Ah... so things are changing slowly for the better then... I never tried Win8 again since the RTM version.

So basically you can use Windows 8.1 now without ever seeing the Metro tile GUI ?

If you use one of the start programs, i'd wager yes. Although without it you dont spend more then a few seconds in it (as much as you ever did the start menu). Win8.2 seems to cure all concerns by bringing back the start menu (without addon), and having windowed 'apps'.

Looks like someone needs to learn how to use the Start-Menu. That search box is there for a reason.

Yes, for typing its the exact same. However we were discussing the mouse interaction of launching a program.
