I'm absolutely loving it. It plays almost exactly like the original XCom, only with better controls, better graphics, and fewer bugs (which is all we ever wanted from an xcom remake really).

I've hit one annoying problem where switching to the squad equipment screen after a battle crashes the game. Since it auto saves right after the mission you can just reload it and everything is fine. That's the only bug I've personally encountered and the developer is working on it as their top priority.

I got over the "ugly" hand drawn menu graphics really quickly because the battlescapes are beautiful. I'm well over 12 hours in to the game so far.

I can't say enough good things about this game. You won't be sorry for buying it.

Damn, i mean, cool....gonna have to look in the couch cushins

As a big fan of both the show and the books, i was thoroughly underwhelmed by the shows fight scene between the Red Viper and the Mountain. I expected a lot more based on the past quality of the shows scenes compared to the books.

So unless you are a heavy graphics user and the software you use is available for Unix, what good is Ubuntu to anyone with an expensive video card?

People that use OpenCL, people that dual-boot and don't want their card to be useless in Linux, people that play Linux-supporting games (of which there are more and more) that have been holding off because their video card has been comparatively underperforming, people interested in building a SteamOS box...

Ahhh yes, the point one percenters...

Buyers of expensive video cards are .1%ers anyway. They probably just shouldn't even be made, right?

One has a legitimate use, the other is redundant.

Just because Crytek needs 8 gigs of ram doesn't mean more competent game programmers can't do it with far less. Those guys are the king-daddies of unoptimized gaming.

This right here. Crytek i'm sure will run our of RAM fairly soon considering they couldnt program themselves out of a wet paper bag.

Just finished re-watching the Rome series. Two bad it was only two seasons. Verenus and Pullo were great.

I still don't understand how that series got cancelled and, like 2 years later Game of Thrones is a hit. They're practically the same show!

Or 5 years... with one being pure fantasy and the other historical with a few exceptions, but ya... sure...

Imagine what it would have done if Invasion didn't suck. They lost a huge portion of their player base in this 4 month league.

We'll be back in the next leagues though if they learned their lessons...

I would agree, but since the patches that toned down the wild one shots in invasion, its been a blast once again to play. This 2week race is even better because its like invasion + ambush and all chars get dumped into invasion afterwords. Which is great because you can get quite a bit of loot from them strongboxes which arent in invasion.

You should give it another try.

Having fun making a new Molten Strike build for this league and already level 33. I also like the addition of the strong boxes /w the hardcore aspect. Really puts risk on opening those suckers up (good thing for smoke mine!)

I played POE in the beta and haven't really since - this gave me the urge to give it a go with a friend... it's been a blast - I like that you can identify the strong boxes before you open them... and you can upgrade them with orbs too!

Neat idea, and definitely something that keeps the game fresh.

Absolutely, its also interesting what you say as i gave up on the game in early closed beta and really wasnt impressed. Few months later i tried again, and for longer and was blown away. Its the only ARPG to really grab me like D2 did.
