how can you all watch the same video I just did, and only walk away with: "well, this is dumb, i'm not gonna buy 4x titans to run this? This is stupid, who cares?"
Because why show tech that's not even close to being realized on current high end gamer setups?
Him saying this scene has 10 times the polygon counts doesn't make me me say "Wow!"

It's like showing Avatar graphics and being like: "look how awesome this is!"
And we're all like: "uh huh, but it will run at 3 fps on my PC so who cares"

To show whats possible. Pretty ridiculous most of you cant appreciate that simple fact.

Looks good, but having not played it i just hope that it conveys the huge disconnect between the Generals and the actual situation that was so evident in WW1. Literally took years of Generals throwing troops at each others meat grinders before they learned a modicum of 20th century warfare. Of all modern day wars, this is the one i would least like to be in. I hope that it conveys this appropriately. That said, we need more games that cover the great war.

It WAS buggy, been playing it for about a year now, it was a heck of a buggy version back then, release was still RATHER buggy, but they patched it sometimes several times a day since then. By now it runs perfectly smooth, has no issues with performance, ... in general, I'm having a blast, haven't come across a bug in weeks, and I'm at over 200 hours.

It really feels like old school Dungeon Keeper, so definitely look into it!

Cool, thanks for that. I think i will give it a try.

To be honest if you want a Dungeon Keeper alike... get War For The Overworld, also on steam, that's Dungeon Keeper 3 as much as it can only be.

Dungeons 1 was a huge letdown, with the target of "entertaining" the knights in your dungeon, and placing things so they would be drawing their attention and giving them a good time instead of being a Dungeon Keeper... which is what people expected.

Haven't played Dungeons 2 yet though.

Thanks for the tip about War for the Overworld....was reading some user reviews, people say its pretty buggy, whats your experience in regard to this?

I saw a few YouTubers play the 2014 edition, I think Worth A Buy was one. It looked very polished compared to the usual simulator tat but the actual mechanic stuff doesn't look detailed.

It did strike me that it could be a decent educational game to show kids the basics of what different parts of a car do and where they are. I wouldn't say the same for Farming Simulator.

I wasnt even aware of the 2014 version, prolly why it took me by suprise...wont happen again. Just someone alert me when they have video game simulator

The game itself only plays in a full screen metro-interface, has achievements and the occasional prompt for micro-transactions. At least I can ignore all the prompts to login to Microsoft's crappy apps service.

Micro-transactions in solitaire? Maybe I'm not a greedy accountant/ceo type because I just can't think of a way to add micro-transactions to solitaire.

Queen of Hearts DLC?

....Serious?

Simulator games are incredibly popular amongst Germans and insufferable autists.

You dont have to tell me this...i'm in g'damn Germania....going down the Software isle at Media Markt (read: Overpriced shitty Computer/Electronics store) and its Simulator nirvana....i just never thought it would attract someone who actually likes working on their cars to say 'Hey, i wish i could do this virtually!'

Learn something new everyday, but ya not saying its bad, just super surprised me...(i should know better)

If you follow the trend, Half Life 3 is obviously going to be a Build-A-Sequel where you purchase textures and enemies ala carte.

I think its pretty amusing that anyone still thinks Halflife3 will ever be made. There is nothing but downside for Valve to do it. Especially for the sloth that is Gabe.

I think the real problem thats going to come out of this is that Bethesda (or whatever company) will basically 'outlaw' free mods and require all mods be pay2play and on steam otherwise they get slapped with a lawsuit. Which will absolutely kill the modding scene as it is.

What a disservice to the gaming community, and the mod community as well. All predicated on greed to feed that fat fuck that runs valve.

Just wish someone would look at MOO 2 and improve on that. I did not really like gal civ 2 so I doubt this one will fix the problems I had with it.

Check out Star Drive 2. While Zero, the dev, is still tweaking and balancing based on community feedback, it is very much the spiritual remake of MOO2 including GNN.

Thats exactly what someone said about zero and star drive1 right before he abandoned it...i still have a sour taste in my mouth from zero and his empty promises...

Can anyone who bought this and has a vidcard with only 1gb of vram chime in on the performance? I'm waiting for the next revision of maxwell to come out (980gtx ti or whatever they'll call it) before upgrading my super ancient insanely overclocked 460gtx SLI setup (which really still handles everything just fine).

I'm on the fence if i should just wait to grab this and the card at the same time like 6-8 months down the road or just buy GTA5 now. Part of me thinks if i get it now, i might spoil the experience with lower textures.

You will spoil it. No doubt in my mind. Not a single second. If one game is VRAM heavy, it's GTA5.

I thought as much. Thanks for the input!
