Looks interesting, I've been waiting for a space exploration game like 'Starflight' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starflight) with modernized graphics, this might fit the bill.

I loved me some Starflight and Starflight2

Regarding the UO house looting, there were lots of patches that tried to stop it. But for everyone they fixed there were lots more to exploit. From 2man teams rezing someone inside a house, or under the stairs and then 'walking' in, to gathering tons of barrels and stacking them so high that you were above a keep/castle tower and could just fall off into it. Those were just some of the more memorable ones.

At one point i had looted so many houses and keeps on the Pacific server that the only way to keep it safe was this super tiny island i found in the middle of the ocean that could only have the smallest house on it. I even encountered a bug that some of the stuff started falling through the wooden floor because it was somehow too heavy to hold it. Good times indeed.

As for this, i'll keep an eye on it watch from the sidelines for now.

On the GTX980 OpenCL news. This benchmark more or less is saying that the GTX960 and GTX970 are probably going to be way over priced when the coin miners start buying them up.

Except for the fact that AMD still beats the 980gtx in GPU mining and in general GPU mining is dead because of the rise of ASIC miners.

I hear the second Death Star was only running Windows 7, and you saw what happened. That's why we should upgrade.

It's not impossible. I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home, they're not much bigger than two meters.

Damn, from reading you guys comments this does sound pretty sweet. I often reminisce about the good ol' UO days. Wonder if i can break into peoples houses and clean them out like i could in UO?

The last year or so i've been populating my NAS with my favorite tv shows and movies, at the moment its about 12tb's. That plus streaming, gaming etc (i dont keep games installed, i delete em and download them as i need them). 150mbit/s (15megabytes a second) its pretty easy to get to that.

Turns out that the 6gb vram requirement might be for people using super sampling.

I'm hoping I'll still be able to use ultra textures on my 670 4gb.

I actually have an intention of a ridiculously modded skyrim playthrough

As someone who has two 460 1gb's in SLI i can vouch for the getting more VRAM, infact i'm looking to upgrade to a 970gtx, and eventually get a 2nd one in a year or two and make that SLI. BUT...i'm waiting for a 6 or 8gb version of the 970gtx, i dont think 4gb will be enough to last the next 4-5 years.

My two 460's actually have enough power to mow down every game i play but its the 1gb vram that holds me back.

I've probably spent about 80$ total (half of that just on extra bank stash cause i'm a digital packrat). They deserve every penny, which is not something i'd say for 95% of the games i've played in the last 30 years

Blue must be happy that the Giants are finally showing signs of life

He's not the only one, I had Julius Thomas on bye in my fantasy league and picked up Donnell, and started Cruz from the bench. This on a week when i have 5 starters on bye and already chalked it up to a loss, really turned me around this week. I may just win in my fantasy league this week.

Somehow i picked NY to beat the spread but to lose, no idea, dont ask..

Wow, looks like they blatantly ripped a lot of things from UFO:EU, which just might turn this into a halfway decent game...

So as someone who didnt back the game, but still wishes them to suceed (even though i have strong doubts), whats the current state of the dog fighting module? It got pretty blasted here on release, i'm curious if they patched it up to a playable (flyable) state?

It plays like an FPS in space. Literally.
It's fun for a while if you don't like flight sims.

I pledged early and I've never played it without getting really bored very fast.
Maybe it'll be a fun game in 3-4 years if they ever put in the features they are promising but right now, pretty much every other game in existence has more gameplay features than Arena Commander.

Thanks for the update, fingers crossed and wallet firmly closed.

Mine is close to Enah's. I prefer ESDF as its easier to find homerow in the dark and i feel your pinky pain pushing down the shift button all the time with it. Also you have more buttons around all your fingers so you can get more options when setting up. Mine is as follows:

E - forward
D - backward
S - strafe left
F - strafe right
W - Lean left
R - Lean Right
T - Reload
G - Grenade
A - this differs a lot game to game
Z - Crouch
X - Prone (again differs game to game as most done have prone)
Spacebar - jump

Q - C - V /are whatevers clever, depends on the game

I had one friend who was probably the best duke3d player i've ever seen (Tsunami on the old T.E.N. was always in the top 10, and won quite a few big LAN parties i attended with him in So.cali, he used spacebar to move forward)
