So you can't properly appreciate the gameplay if you're too busy being distracted by the graphics? That's a new one.

I guess so. There was a thread about this sort of thing over on Giant Bomb recently: Lighting Effects

I'd put them in this order: Crysis > Crysis: Warhead > FarCry 2 > FarCry > Crysis 2.

Crysis 1 on Delta difficulty was exactly what I wanted from this kind of game. I liked the jungle setting, the soldiers talking Korean, the aliens, the snow, the zero-g, the long walks of not-much-happening, the Nanosuit and just the overall beauty and sense of place it all had. It was fun and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Crysis 2 on the other hand, I can't say much for, I didn't enjoy it.

I've got a few games to trade if you're interested.

Killing Floor, Defense Grid and Super Meat Boy.

I think this app should have been a blog post, or a Gametrailers video, or a GT.TV segment.

Dear Gearbox: Stop making console games. Gamers just want to play games together and you're separating out and it hurts the PC industry.

I really enjoyed Amnesia, as well as the Penumbra games before it.

The control scheme is one of my favorite things about it - it allows for a level of control that I wish all games had. Like, in Crysis, you could pick up all kinds of stuff, but you couldn't do much with that stuff. You could hit with it, throw it or drop it. You couldn't stack it, or rotate it, or pose it, or gently nudge it off a cliff. Garry's Mod and Trespasser are the only comparisons.

But yeah, great stuff. A lot of fun and some good scares! I did a playthrough of it and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent. :3

Good stuff.

This was the first "Let's Play" series I ever did. A lot of fun but incredibly frustrating. Thousands of deaths, according to the finish screen.

HL2 on XBOX 360:

crowbar (down once)
Gravity Gun (down twice)
pistol (up once)
magnum (up twice)
crossbow (up thrice)
rifle (right once)
shotgun (right twice)
plasma rifle (right thrice)
grenade (left once)
rpg (left twice)
pheropod (left thrice)

No inventory items.
No off-hand weapons.

DNF mapped like HL2, assuming it has the same weapons Duke3D:

Kick (off-hand melee attack - B)
Pistol (up once)
chaingun (up twice)
shotgun (right once)
freeze gun (right twice)
RPG (left once)
devestator (left twice)
shrink ray (down once)
microwave ray ??? (down twice)
pipebomb (off-hand throw - L1)
trip bomb (off-hand set - L2)

+ Inventory:
holoduke (Dunno.)
jetpack (Dunno.)
nightvision (Dunno.)
health kit (Dunno.)
protective boots (Dunno.)
scuba gear (Dunno.)
steroids (Dunno.)

Just sayin'. Kinda cramped. I guess it could be a radial menu. Hold D-Pad left to bring up weapons, d-pad right to bring up inventory. Not ideal. Maybe weapons all left and right and inventory all up and down on the dpad - but that sounds cumbersome to me.

Share your better layout ideas if ya got 'em. No more than thrice in any direction, because more than that is just silly.

Also, mousewheel scrolling is much faster than shoulder button tapping, so I don't see that as a viable replacement. Lastly, don't forget inventory items and the off-hand weapons.

Steam pulled me out of my fullscreen game to tell me about this update. It's done this with the previous two updates too. Seriously, wtf Valve. Is this happening to anyone else too? Running Windows 7 64-bit. I swear this didn't start happening until the last month or two...

The game doesn't crash, it just minimizes?
