There's something quite technological about that punk.

Press F9 to toggle weapon charging, and F10 to toggle shield charging. Remaining power will be redirected to the engines.

Good luck with that.

Wait, what I actually mean is fuck off and step away from the internet.

Apparently one of my great uncles improvised his own remote control by taking the controls off the TV unit and connecting them by a long wire, so he could have them on the coffee table. A long-reach wired remote. Very much a tinkerer. Shame he didn't live to see the internet.

Here it comes, just like AOL, just like the myspace buyout. There goes the peak, here comes the long decline.

  • First you have to own a computer (as opposed to the cheaper DVD or BRD player)

  • Everyone has a computer already.

  • Second, there's the electricity used to download and burn.

  • Same applies to TV/dvd player, and in a comparison like this they cancel out

  • Third there's the time spent finding, downloading, and burning.

  • This is where the non-tech mainstream have a problem, yes.

  • Fourth there's the stress and worry associated with doing something illegal, whether it be a moral or fear-based stress.

  • Only slight, considering the odds of being caught.

The internet is the new gutenburg machine and the only reasons there isn't a universal platform where anyone can instantly watch any movie ever made are licensing disagreements (ie lawyers, laughing hysterically, rolling in piles of cash while huffing gold dust and cocaine off platinum busts of themselves) and the pride and idiocy of the studios in thinking they can get away with ignoring or not understanding the potential of the internet, instead sticking to the VHS model.

Netflix is close, but it doesn't have every movie ever made, and is limited by country. Hey assholes, the internet doesn't have borders! Stop region-locking things!

Already preordered (before the kickstarter). I have no desire to play it till it is finished.

Really like the mid-cold war vibe though.

There are android and iphone apps to chart the levels of caffeine in your blood. Maybe that'd be handy?

There is no technological solution to "e-bullying". It is an extension of RL behaviour. Deal with that in your schools, then consider the internet.

Buy 3 projectors and jury rig some curved screens ($8000 at most!) then spend $5000 on beer and champagne, and still have $5000 left over.

But boy, I'd love to play some Arma 2 on this.

Back in the day I always preferred filefront. They were saved from death last year iirc.

Gamershell is good for old game demos and patches.

Blatant EA cashing in on the "indie" brand.

Yeah, there's nothing prohibiting big rich companies from having a bunch of tiny studios running inside them (along with the 200 person AAA studios), and I'm sure those can make indie-souled games... but to call them indie is probably not strictly true.

How is it any different from any of the other companies that have had kickstarters, taken the cash and are no longer moving forward with the project?

Please name some of these "target reached" kickstarters that took the money and ran. I have not heard of them.

How can they still not get it? How is it possible that after a decade of rampant unconstrained "piracy" of their shows they still don't understand the free, legal alternative has to be BETTER and work with a minimum of fuss?
