Might have happened before, but this is the first time I've noticed that not a single valve game has appeared on the top ten.

World of Warcraft is on D2D, so it's not completely out of the question.

My original starcraft disc did NOT include a mac version I'm 99% sure. The Starcraft battlechest version did.

yeah, if vgcharts is to be trusted (no real idea of how accurate that information really is) then the list seems awfully wrong. According to vgcharts nintendogs and New Super mario bros (ds) both sold around (or more) than Mario Kart Wii.

Well it sounded like when you buy mass effect 2 you get codes for some DLC for free. So that said I'm not surprised if this was true.

Yeah, it's not like steam didn't tell customers it was going to be released on the 12th. If you were a pc gamer and wanted to play it on the 10th, you should have bought it retail and activated it on steam. Those people get to play it on the 10th (as far as I understand it).

News Comments > Torchlight and Torchlight Demo Released
14. Re: Game Reviews Oct 27, 2009, 17:10 deadearth

If it's GPL you can't charge for it.

That's not correct. All the GPL says is that if the source is GPL and you distribute a binary to someone you have to provide the source to that person upon request. You don't even have to provide the source to everyone, just the person you gave the binary too.

This doesn't restrict you from charging money for anything. Red Hat wouldn't be as successful of a company as it is if it couldn't charge money.

2. Re: Op Ed Oct 9, 2009, 11:17 deadearth

And StarCraft fans may be more than perturbed about the late release of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, already sliced into three campaigns, largely due to delays with Battle.net, Blizzard's multiplayer service.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't SC2 split because one game was simply too big for what they wanted to do? The game being delayed had to do with battle.net, not the split into 3 games AFAIK.

Edit: actually it was a poorly worded sentence combined with my poor reading skills :}

The first two Runaway games are available on steam, so there should be no excuse for not finding them :}

(assuming they aren't region locked on steam)

I think what he's saying is "we don't want the binary simply decompiled to assembly code" (which is trivial to do, but not very useful).

It would be interesting if they implemented some sort of SEC or FDIC agency to regulate and monitor the banks within eve to ensure this doesn't happen.

Actually if you look at http://store.steampowered.com/stats/, it looks like their lowest usage is around 6 - 9 pm Pacific time.... which is exactly when their outage is.

Yeah, having to go through file planet makes me less likely to download the demo. I've been spoiled too much by steam and since i already have impulse installed, It'd be much nicer just to use that.

I was thinking this was gonna be at least $20. That is an unbelievable price for the upgrade they did to that game.

Looks like ghostbusters is on steam now, and there's no indication of any DRM (other than Steam).

http://www.lucasarts.com/games/monkeyisland/

They took the old game and just put on a new interface, new artwork, new music, and voices. You can even hit a button to switch the entire game back and forth between the old version and the new. They literally built the new game ontop of the old one. Seems really cool to me.
