I have been waiting a *long* time for a good turn-based GW PC game. Hope this one is great.

I agree with a lot of the comments here. The surface missions are underwhelming, but the space combat is a lot of fun and worth a try.

Payday: The Heist 3

Except that I would rather play Pay Day 2 than this any day of the week. Between the launch problems and putting 'Battlefield' before the name of this game, they've really tarnished the franchise over the past year.

Crap like this (meaning the comment section) is the reason I click on the Comment Link less and less often here at Blues. Even the awesome Blues crowd is getting stupider and stupider.

Stopped reading there. If you are going to insult a community en masse, maybe do it at the end of your super-long post?

He didn't do that because he knew we wouldn't read his novel (and therefore be insulted).

We should applaud this. Frames per second are hardly the only judge of whether a game is good or not.

Different scenes have different levels of complexity, especially in a game like survival horror. For a huge chunk of the game you're walking down a narrow hallway with nothing going on. A good system can pump out tons of frames. Suddenly you hit a scene where hell breaks loose. Any system will take a sudden frame hit.
Which a player can notice.

So lock the framerate to the lowest likely framerate the game will run at and we should applaud that? I don't think so, try harder to improve the performance then I'll applaud.

So angry... Have to disagree on WoT being the most pay-to-win. I played about a year without ever buy gold ammo and did just fine.

Same here. Love the game, hate the company, and the excessive grind. There are ways to do F2P and then there are ways to do F2P. Wargaming has proven over the years (I have been a player since beta) that they care nothing about the community and that their priority is to maximise profits.

Not trying to be argumentative, but just curious: What specific issues do you have with the game that they don't want to address? I used to play this, just got bored with it is all.

Why risk "everything" on a mammoth project? If you buy stocks you also diversify as much as possible to balance risk vs. profit. It's just the smart thing to do.

This is how publishers think. I used to work for EA a long time ago and at that time, only 10% of their games made a substantial profit. Those made so much money though that they more than made up for the meager performance of the other 90%. Just like movies, this is why you see a disproportionate investment in sequels because they're more of a sure thing. Maybe the only thing that could have saved Titan was if it was Wow2.

Is it that they are so proud of their specific flavor or are they trying to distance themselves from the other kinds?

I would say it's meant to create an understanding that they are all in the same boat, critically speaking.

Ok, thanks.

Fun discussion.

This was making me wonder why is there an LGBT at all instead of just G. Are they not all at least part gay so why do they feel like they need to make such granular distinctions? Is it that they are so proud of their specific flavor or are they trying to distance themselves from the other kinds?

Just curious.

The ad is the main reason why people think he's egotistical. Of course that was a long time ago and he's apologized since. I say it's time to give him a break.

John Romero's about to make you his bitch.

I avoid kickstarter because I'm not really interested in investing in a game project that may/may not finish, I'm more interested in buying a working game.

That said, the first red flag to me was the $50K goal. I've worked on many games and the cheapest budget was $300K 15 years ago. No idea how you can make a decent modern game for so little.

Well I played only Rush on BC2 and logged over 100 hours doing that. Things that made it fun:

Bug free (for the most part). Some people had problems, but well I didn't.
Maps had all the buildings destroyable. Added more options.
Maps had better flow. Yes some of them bottlenecked, but it was still fun to try and break.
In GAME server browser.
Weapons felt like they would kill people, then they did.
Single player was a rail with more freedom and enjoyable writing.
Steam instead of Origins. Not sure how much that matters.

I know I missed a few, but well that's the best my just woke up brain can handle.

God awful acting, campy special effects, forced dialogue. It looks like a poorly thrown together, straight to dvd sci fi flick by a first year film student.

Anyhow, for my cheesy sci-fi aliens-esque shows.. Falling Skies does it for me.
