You think there's something in the water in Boston?

There's always something in the water in Boston. Ask The Troggs... Whether it causes championships or not is still up in the air.

Don't get me wrong. I own the game. Bought and paid for with my hard-earned cash.

I run a fairly decent system (FX-60 / 2+ GB RAM / 8800 GT 512 / etc...) and I, like Asmondai, spent an obscene amount of time turning the settings down from the "Autodetected" settings to reach a playable (I use that word loosely as 20+/- FPS is barely considered "playable"...) state.

Perhaps Crytek should look at the forums as opposed to the financial reports to determine why their game didn't sell as much as they expected...

Um, oops. Got a little trigger-happy and posted a blank...

Anyhoo, the point, as I see it, is everybody is pissed off about Crytek blaming their poor sales figures on piracy and not the fact (yes, I said fact) that their game had rediculously high system requirements, a poorly optimised demo (and final product) and mediocre gameplay. I assume they were banking on people buying the game based upon the success that was Far Cry. It didn't happen.

As many posters have already stated, Crytek should stop whining and learn from their mistakes. Pure and simple...

Blue, the difference between having to hire a professional or this being a DIY project depends on a few factors.

Firstly, Is your house higher in evelation than the street? If not, hire a professional. If so, read on.

Secondly, Is there a window in your basement? If not, hire a professional. If so, read on.

Thirdly, Is there a power outlet in relative close proximity to the sump? If not, yeah, yeah yeah....

If you meet all of this criteria, buy a sump pump at your local hardware store. They should be able to explain to you how to install it properly.

Yeah, it sounds like a total rip-off of Re-Volt. That game was fun as hell though.....

I've spent the last three years avoiding Lost like the plague. I figured if you didn't start watching it from the beginning, you would be, well, lost... Just recently, ABC.com has provided access to all three seasons in HD (provided you have the hardware and the bandwidth to view it. which, most gamers do). I've got to say, I'm hopelessly addicted now. I'm even interested in the game. The one screenshot provided with the article looks very good. Let's see if they can pull it off.....

I installed the demo and it runs like dog-shit. I meet and exceed the system requirements listed in the readme. Anyone else having issues with this? I would like to provide an opinion on the demo but it runs like a slide show even set at the lowest possible settings......

I've found that ABC.com has, by far, the best streaming video I have ever seen. You can also watch the entire last season of LOST there for nothing. You do, however, have to suffer through a 30 second commercial about every 12 - 18 minutes. Personally, I suffer through them as the quality of the video and the ease of access is seemingly worth it.

I do not own a console (Strictly PC in this house) so I never played the 360 version of this. I bought it and I gotta' say I'm enjoying it. The graphics look good, the gameplay is simple, yet effective. The score is well done (OK, the voice acting and script is a bit juvenile) and makes the action a bit more theatrical. I play a LOT of shooters and I'm kind of enjoying the recent influx of 3rd person shooters even if they are just console ports.

Granted, this game is not what the hype portrayed it to be, but really, what game EVER lives up to the hype? Look at Crysis... That game is getting perfect 10s from review sites and it's not even released yet. The demo runs like crap on any system that doesn't have a Quad Core CPU and a $500 Video card. At least GoW looks and plays acceptably on older systems.

Port, schmort, the game is fun.....
