strange how the damage effect on screen is a red aura. this seems like a bloodless cartoon kid-style game to me, and so it might be better suited to a black knock-out effect rather than mortal kombat blood

alien isolation has less than 10 hours of good gaming in it. they should have spent less on a shorter, better game.

the "crew expendable" DLC is probably the best experience in the game, and it's less than an hour long. I wish they had found a way to charge $20 for multiple mini-games like this, rather than $60 for a bloated monstrosity with great experiences hid behind DLC.

here, skip the game and just watch these:

I'm curious about the goings-on behind the scenes, because I assume the generation of a steam key for an existing sale requires frontier to pay valve the steam-fee, the same as if the game was bought on steam! Which would mean that adding this feature would subtract money from frontier!

POE has an economy and D3 has some sort of mutant WOW design. while the fundamentals are the same (grind monsters to death and put on new clothing), everything of substance is different

YOU CAN TRADE IN POE! TRADE! AMAZING!

If I liked diablo 2, will I like this? Basically a average weekend of diablo 2 consisted of joining games named Baal Run 1 through 700 ;D

I'm happy to inform you that POE is a spiritual successor to Diablo. POE is part of the new generation wave of old-school PC games: It's sketchy, it's difficult, it's kind of ugly, and it's awesome.

Enemies fly at you, you fly at them, you pass each other at incredible speeds far too high to ever turn into their tail and get into a nice chase or dogfight.

that's not true. I WISH the game was more realistic and played like that. but for all the hardcore simulation talk, it's really just a harder-core atmospheric-style shooter, the kind you say you want. maybe it's just too hardcore for you, or you didn't give it enough time.

the keyboard versus gamepad debate is much ado about nothing. this kind of game has always been good with a gamepad. where did it start? mario 64?

you're running around button mashing. aiming is assisted. of course it's going to be good for a gamepad.

I think some people might be complaining about the controller support when they really mean to say that they're ignorant and want everything to be "their way"

I don't like to be a hater of this because I like asymmetrical multiplayer games. But the population chart speaks volumes. It's a line straight down since launch. Because the game is not fun enough to go back to.

All in all, it ran great but seemed like it had no purpose. I would of preferred they shared something a bit more complete than just a technology show. I was impressed for 5 minutes and then quit to go back into CS GO, lol.

arena commander and CS both have the same purpose. CS is the better game, but both are just run-and-gun. both just players with guns murdering each other on a couple different maps. this is ironic given your comment, so let's just stick with "I like CS better than arena commander" (and I do too)

If you seriously need 100gb patches then you failed. Code should never be that large compressed. This obviously means BS like assets and cutscenes are being pushed in updates.

Sir,

I am intrigued by your response and am considering subscribing to your newsletter.

bluesnews poster reads story about 40gb game being 100gb some day. what actually enters his head is "100gb patches"

explains a lot

big new games do not take 2-3 years to make. the latest COD off the assembly line might take 2-3 years. a big game where everything is new might take 2x longer than that. for example, a game like GTA4, skyrim, SW:TOR... or star citizen. but someone who follows game development would already know that
