Do we need to mention... PORN!?

Indeed sir, yes. Imagine superimposing a victoria's secret model over top of your "big is beautiful" wife.

"What are you wearing on your face, honey?"

"It's..... for my asthma."

Well, you know the Oculus is already dead, now. This is just Windows 10 marketing, of course, and the xBone has nowhere near enough power to push an Oculus where it needs to go (for the ten or eleven people that may be foolish enough to buy one...;))

Windows 10 is the best platform for gaming, period--has nothing much to do with the xBone at all. Or the xBone controller. The xBone controller angle is weird-o; Microsoft didn't need to even mention that to give props to Windows 10--obviously "new Windows 10 graphics hardware" has nothing to do with the xBone which isn't new and drastically underpowered as well...;)

Gads, I wish Microsoft would cut out the Apple-level marketing ...it's insulting...;)

I believe that when playing XB1 games the Oculus is simply displaying the game as a large 2D display. So it wouldn't need to hit 75fps. It's not 3D.

But regardless I don't really see any reason for this mode, this is basically a way for MS to partner with someone as an answer for the PS4 and Morpheus (albeit a weak answer).

Personally I'm still leaning toward the Vive, it's out earlier, has the same display specs and the added feature of the whole walking around stuff. I think the Oculus primarily wants you seated.

I'm glad we'll have some options this winter. Should be fun stuff to play with.

Maybe I'm just jaded. I work in the oil and gas industry, the stuff she was dealing with is nothing. My coworker in accounts payable told me once that one of the shop guys just walked into her office and offered her $1000 for sex. Like it was no big thing. She said no, and he just walked out, no biggie.

You're not jaded, I worked as an apprentice 20 years ago. I had the secretary of the company we worked for offer me something similar. I was 15 at the time(AoC was 14 then she was 23). Did a couple of jobs out in Alberta a few years ago, one at a coal mine, same thing happened and a friend who works for Telus had a similar proposition from two different women at a government office. It's sure not limited to men.

As for Herr Pao, half the jury I believe was asian female and if I remember right they were not thrilled about her.

Wait a second. I live in Alberta! Women here are offering that? What the hell! I feel cheated!

You have to be 15.

Once again, being 38 bites me in the ass. Crap.

I dunno, it seemed from the coverage I read that KP had a pretty blatant sexist culture, and that culture most likely affected her ability to be promoted. I was actually surprised that she lost.

That being said, she definitely didn't help her case by sleeping with one of the C-level execs.

Ellen Pao sounds like every other entitled liberal idiot with "Discrimination" glasses on 24/7.

And now I dislike reddit even more than before...

Yup, and every tech blog in the world is covering her 24/7. Irritating. She's the Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner of the tech world.

With the Vive on the market offering a competitive option, I'd doubt we'll see Oculus do something that daft.

I'm guessing it will go for $499 unbundled. You heard it here first.
Does anyone know if the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive will support dynamic refresh rates? Having to hit 75-90fps will be a major problem otherwise with vsync.

I've been wondering that too. I've never tried Oculus but from what I've heard we're gonna need display sync. Something tells me that even a little screen tearing will cause more than a few stomach's to lurch.

Nope. Yet more reason the Vive will slaughter this piece of shit in its sleep.

The Vive uses the same displays, it's going to have the same required PC specs as Oculus to drive them. Not sure about the price though.

Having seen how devs try to gain some visibility in the Google Play store I'm surprised that they are using this as a reason to pull a game. Especially when 2048 was the one that ripped Threes! off. I know one guy who has 500 reviews of his app, and every single one of them is fake. I know another who wrote a bot to download thousands of copies of his game. They're both still thriving in the market.

Hololens, is it even safe to strap a highspeed network adapter to your head?

This stuff is very low power.

I'm bummed to see the FOV on the Hololens to be only 35-40 degrees. It's really gonna break the immersion. I hope they can improve that before release.

So isn't this basically GalCiv 3, just with different names?

Star Control wasn't always a 4X strategy. In the beginning it was an adventure. Then they ruined it.
