For me, the only way I can rescue and foster dogs in time from the Memphis Animal shelter - which, sadly is not a no-kill shelter - is by reading the announcements on their Facebook. I just fostered five awesome pit bull puppies (all with homes now - WOOT!) that were scheduled to be destroyed at 5pm on the day the announcement came out on Facebook. If saving perfectly good dogs from unnecessary destruction requires a Facebook account, then I'll bite the bullet and do it. On another note, being an active musician without using Facebook page means being out of work quite a bit. One out of every five pit bulls will permanently disfigure an infant's face. I'm not sure how you sleep at night. |

It is still a good game and doesn't really have a solid competitor.
GW2 will steal some subscribers but it will not be a wow-killer.
Hopefully something comes along and replaces WoW in terms of content and quality before I'm too arthritic to play games. |

When I see a bad running pc, then I see MSE, I can almost always guarantee I've immediately spotted the problem. That program wants to lock and hog resources like no other. And more people are using it? To me that will just make more disgruntled users perhaps looking at Mac next time. Win 7 was a great step forward, MSE will easily take it all back. Running it on multiple systems and not once have I seen anything even remotely like what you're describing here. Do you work for Symantec or something? It's the only antivirus software I've ever used that's completely transparent and doesn't do what you're describing.
I work on a hundred or more systems a week and I've never even heard anyone complain about it before. Literally the only problem I've ever even dealt with regarding MSE is on a couple of systems where it wouldn't install.
Symantec does have a superior product both in NIS and N360. There were issues but those are long, long gone. Norton is better - hands down.
Those complaining about Endpoint Protection - is your company running the latest version? I know they had plans to re-write EP to use much of the N360/NIS code - not sure if that's been completed yet or not. |

$3 each at GoG. I remember playing Rise of the Triad when it was first released. One of the first (or the first?) FPS with akimbo pistols - lots of fun. |

Give it a go, see what you think. If you have any questions I can probably help.
Make sure to add any DLC to your account that's marked FREE. You get that permanently added to your account (sometimes they introduce a DLC as free, then start charging for it later, so the people that added it when it was free get to keep using their free copy). I played the heck out of it when it was first released but constantly having the grind the same level X times to get a satisfactory version of the weapon I was seeking plus the constant disconnect issues from Trendynet killed it for me.
I may try again but there certainly is a lot of farming involved if you want a decent character. |

You can either buy it and deal with it, or move the fuck on and stop bitching about it. Actually, I can NOT buy it, AND bitch about it! Free speech is cool. I can tell others that Blizzard and the fanboys are full of shit when they say stuff about it being online only to prevent cheating. I can point out that you're at the mercy of their servers and your ISP if you want to play the game you paid for. I can at least help to inform some people about the problems. If they want to buy anyway, fine. That's their decision. My decision is to point out the crap that ActiBliz is peddling. This is all very true. The trick to making it work is to ensure that the people receiving your message are stupid enough to agree. |

I like his use of /facepalms and swears though, makes it all that much funnier when he just keeps digging that ignorance hole. Ehhh... it's equally funny to see people complaining about a persistent connection requirement given where we are with technology today.
I get it. Some people are poor. Fine. You probably shouldn't be spending your money on video games anyway. D3 is not a persistent connection game, it literally only plays on a blizzard server, you never host a game on your machine, you connect to a hosted game session on some b.net server, even if playing alone - that means you always have lag and delay if blizzard has crappy servers and you can not play if blizzard or you have an outage.
This has nothing to do with money. You're right. I hadn't thought of Blizzard having crappy servers! They probably don't have the funds or past experience to do this right. |

That PoE was compared to D3 in terms of being online only and not looking into the fact that PoE has the right price for many of us who are opposed to online DRM because it's FUCKING FREE is laughable. Anyone who plays PoE over D3 doesn't have double standards, we do have working brains though because we're able to distinguish FREE from paid. Such passion! Nah, just plain common sense, something that's sorely lacking to some in this thread.
I'm not sure making a direct comparison between the two games is fair. That's why I plan on downloading PoE to give it a whirl. |

Still cracks me up to this day. A lot of the old farts stayed in D1, thankfully. Or moved to Ultima Online.
Diablo 3 looks like shit more and more every day though. It's like an inferior version of Torchlight.
I'd rather get Torchlight 2 or Grim Dawn. Both are basically what the gaming public expected Diablo 3 to be anyway. I've played Torchlight and I've played the D3 beta. It's a cute comment but if you think Diablo 3 is inferior to Torchlight then you haven't played Diablo 3. But then you know how Torchlight 2 plays without playing it. Boggle. I agree. It's fine to be a Torchlight fan but let's not make absurd statements. |
