| I usually discount the top scores on metacritic, especially if they have nothing bad to say about the game. That just makes me think that an envelope full of cash changed hands. |

If you were ever hooked on World of Warcrack you will cave and buy this I was hooked on WoW and I will not be buying this. My entire guild quit playing it eventually because there was nothing new under the sun for so long. |

Mmkay managed to play another 5 minutes of Amnesia just now.
Only playing it at night with the lights off and headphones on.
I should be done with it by 2025 at this rate. |

| I don't have any first hand experience with Minecraft, but judging from the videos a Dungeon Keeper mod for it would totally hit the spot. |

My previous self built computer was AMD. My current one is Intel. Next one will be AMD again even if there is a speed discrepancy because of this news.
You just lost a customer, Intel. |

I see this as a good thing. Yes, they could release a poor driver that causes people to blackscreen but there will be n+1 people using this, n being the number of people it takes to cause a big stink when their drivers don't work. The end result will be better quality testing before drivers are released in the future and fast response when the inevitable rears it's head.
Not necessarily in that order. |

The one prior to the one Blue linked is more humorous IMO.
Here is a link in case you do not feel like going to that one and hitting the back button:

They are hit or miss like all non-contiguous entertainment. Some are better than others. Not to mention that this type of humor might just not be your bag. |

| The single player campaign was quite good. I am looking forward to seeing how they price the sequels though considering that they will probably add only a few elements to the multiplayer in each. |

I had not taken that into account. Good AI would solve this nicely, but I am not holding my breath.
Unfortunately tacked on multiplayer is done at the expense of the single player as well, budgets and deadlines being what they are. Granted, co-op is worse from the single player enthusiasts' perspective for all the reasons you have previously mentioned. |

QFT. It would be amazing if developers stopped feeling compelled to shoehorn multiplayer into games that don't fit well conceptually with it and instead tried to put in co-op.
Wait, you complain about shoehorning multiplayer into games that don't need it, then say that they should shoehorn co-op instead? Batman doesn't need co-op, neither do most of the games that have it these days. In short, yes. I feel that co-op has untapped potential and I am using the definition of compel that follows:
to cause to do or occur by overwhelming pressure <public opinion compelled her to sign the bill>
I am saying that developers may rather not put multiplayer or co-op in their game, but either because the people that sign their checks demand it or because everyone else is doing it they feel they must.
I am biased in thinking that co-op offers much more and would like more games to have it, so that once in a great while one comes out with some truly interesting gameplay.
If said developers thought that co-op or multiplayer did not work for their game and did not want to include them I would be perfectly fine with it. If there is a compulsion however, I would rather it be towards co-op. |

If it's multiplayer as in Co-Op, then I am all for it. Otherwise I just don't see them pulling off multiplayer, UNLESS it's like the Splinter Cell series where you have 2 heroes, vs 2 villians with henchmen. THAT I would like to see. QFT. It would be amazing if developers stopped feeling compelled to shoehorn multiplayer into games that don't fit well conceptually with it and instead tried to put in co-op.
I suppose it would usually result in the quality of most forced multiplayer games released though, sadly. |
