The game is a fucking resource hog, its astounding really for what it is, drives the fans on the vid card into overdrive, but then its running optifine as well dont know if its the cause. but even the server is a resource pig and it runs on linux to ,me happy
But its a neat game, well done. Hope there are more succesfull like this , i own a copy and run a LAN server for a couple of pc's at home when the kids are over. though some are outgrowing it. I still dable from time to time. bukkit wasnt that hard to get running.

yeah ive noticed the same a number of ubi games i own have unresolved problem, i tend to avoid them now
And whats the deal with steam users, surely they cant care steam is precisely the same disease , gotta go online suck down updates (open wide we are gonna drain your cap ) or play on lan it requires the net as well. Seems rather ironic to me ??
USB hard drives are cheap so download anywhere phooey! |

Well the no steam is great news, but sounds like it will still be stuck with some other internet dongle tethering it to some remote server.
Hopefully an unthethering fix will become available and if it still has lan capability ( where LAN = no internet involved ) ill sure buy it.
Not into racing much but trackmania is ace |

If they even cared in the least they could release software for people to run private servers at least but this is EA aka electronic asholes. Wish i could make my money vaporize after x years as well and return to me. Fortunately i avoid anything requiring an internet dongle like the plague. But were a planet of sheep, oh look green grass down there, straight of the cliff edge<sigh>
Just remembered that line from nfshp2 "challenge everything" everytime the game launched loved that and I DID! when i nocd'd the game to put on all pc's on the lan , one thing i agreed on with EA and i will continue to do so in my home !

Anyone wonder if the game was an intentional hatchet job, hey the devs know enough of the foolish masses will buy anything. What a way to pay back the original creator, destroy his un-finished creation by releasing a lackluster version. Gotta wonder don't ya |

Its actually quite addictive , I love the way how objects are destructable to varying degrees i remember the battlefield series where a tank would come to a grinding halt on a picket fence, not so here. Mind you a bigger tank goes thru bigger items. bf tanks are a bad joke. The only thing that annoys me is getting stuck on terrain, typically hills and drops , its not always clear if that rise is passable In all its a lot of fun, my nephews are even having a go on dial-up ( i patch everything up for them |

Steams is crap, it has no ability to patch so anything which uses large packed files requires a complete download. A foolish mate bought a steam game , and i thought to do him a favour to update it , i did not as it turns out it was going to download 16Gb, get lost steam. ! So i warn them if you buy steam you will get no support from me |

It still has DRM , to clarify i consider anything wich limits how i play it a form of DRM. You cannnot play multiplayer lan, it requires you to logon to yuplay for heavens sake WHY for lan play - its DRM pure and simple.
Anything requiring someones else permission for me to run it is DRM I bought full spectrum warriors a while back ( i was on dial up) it required the same bullshit as did mageknight , so many games do and it's not always clear that this is the case on the box and of course no returns Fortunately i now have broadband ( it costs me more ) but i can try before i buy. There has not been much that i considered worthwhile to try though, go figure only play coop based games.
And steam is DRM in itself valve's a DRM parasite |
