You're the one that keeps on bringing up child porn.. and you're the one that is so intolerant that you can't talk about someone's religious beliefs without being completely insulting, hostile, and juvenile.
So I guess you *would* have the best perspective on not being able to handle an intelligent conversation.

At least that whole "Punch the Monkey" series is over... you know it's bad when webcomics start interacting with them..

"When will the game be released?
McGee: Sometime in 2004. The toys are going to be out before the end of December, 2003. A book will be out before the end of 2004."
This commercialised attitude just begs to be cruelly mocked and avoided at the stores. Too bad Romero didn't think of doing this for Daikatana - that crucifixion would have been fun to attend.

The people who live considerably further away from a real software store than from Walmart, I suppose. Like me. 10 miles to Walmart, 30 to Software Etc. And I don't see any free gas money coming in from the people who eww and ick on Walmart, so that decision is easy.
Occasionally, instead of having to wait for a game to ship from EB or some place, I'll go to Walmart to see if they have it. Half the time they don't, but it's faster than waiting for UPS.

Too much like reality |

Spent two hours downloading the 1.2 gig game, then a 112MB patch. The very first house I entered, there were a bunch of people clicking away at computers.. then one of them bellowed for "MORE FOOD PLZ". Quit, uninstalled, deleted.
I mean really, why pay for a sim LAN party when I could go to a real one for free? =)

That's not exactly the same thing as the billing cock-up - most of the people taking credit cards for orders are the stores, not the game account managers. For example, EB doesn't have anything to do with it other than passing a box along in exchange for some money..
Still sucks, though. And weird, since every other standard billing system has no problem dealing with most every country.
Maybe this is how they plan to get around the mad overwhelming 'release rush'? Bad way to do it..

I see you had to bring in artillery support in the form of another fanboy. Hiya Bushman. Gotten tired of the Playskool forums over there yet? Had to bring the same old tired excuses to a new location?
If they all had to be *in front* of you, yeah, your argument would make sense. But they dont, so it doesn't. The limit check keeps track of stuff all around you. But I suspect you'll claim that's wrong too. Fine with me. Being called wrong by a rabid CRS investor is not exactly the end of the world. Can pretty much expect it. Gotta protect the investment at all costs, right? Heh.
And if I'm coming over a hill to a large fight, looking at an AB, yeah, I'm going to see a large majority of the defenders. Try reading for comprehension, it tends to help.
Yeah, every other game has a limit, that they hard-code. No shit, thanks for swinging the obvious around. Do you know why they hard-code it? So they don't fuck players #65+ in a fight. Unlike CRS, which merely denies that there's a problem until someone hits them in the face with it.
The limit is relevant. 65+ player fights happen regularly. I've been in many of them. They HAVE to happen, if we're to believe your numbers regarding the player base and your rants about its popularity. If you've really got 1500 people playing, don't you think that there might be more than 64 at a time in a given area? And the weekends are guaranteed to produce those large fights.
Can always count on someone to bring in the Playskool brigade to ruin a fun local skirmish. But even so, maybe if you say something particularly brainless again, I'll respond again.. otherwise, have fun with your game.

S'ok, I normally hate people who like to make statements like "can't possibly be anything but your suckmonkey system, so get more RAM and bow before my uber-adminity". Guess that makes us even. Except for the fact that you're an insecure tool who can't stay on topic.
Thanks, asshole, but I was talking about GAMEPLAY issues like the terrible AI. That sort of thing detracts from quality just as much as framerate.
You want to talk shit about someone's system, respond to them, not me.

It only does it for games that the system has to struggle to keep up with? Mebbe heat related... Check the temperature of the CPU in the BIOS after it reboots like that.. could be your heatsink fan has slowed or the thermal grease has dried - making it just hot enough that the high performance games put it over the edge.

Being talked about a lot doesn't mean it's worth a shit, or that its fans don't gloss over the dreck.
Witness Britney Spears, any boy-band, and nu-metal. See also Duke Nukem, John Romero, the Oscar nominees, and Glock firearms.

"Anyways, this doesn't really seem like a game that was made for single player."
Odd, then, that they always seem to mention single-player mode when they talk about the game, and even try to pass off laughable adjectives like 'unique' along with it.
It *was* made (as an afterthought, no doubt) to be played single-player, it just wasn't made competently for that. Multi-player is fun as hell, but if they're going to hype the SP aspect, they need to make it not suck so bad first.

Consider it skipped.
"Unique single player mode features no scripting, meaning the player gets different experience each time they play. "
Heh, yeah, which vehicle are they gonna repeatedly hop up and down on this time? Will they precision-laser-guided-strike-bomb me 7 times in a row, or 8?
It's a unique single-player mode, alright. Even the Tron lightcycles were smarter than the BF1942 bots.

64 bottles of Soon on the wall |

"What I think is funny that the same people who gripe at the 64 player limit also are the ones yelling that there is no one playing and they cant find a fight! If you cant find a fight, and if there is no one playing, how in the hell is the 64 limit affecting you? "
Huh? Not all of us are doing both. I'm griping about the 64 limit precisely because it impedes my fun in huge battles. Rather, it impeded. The frustration level (of that limit and of many other things) rose above the enjoyment level, so I quit playing. It wasn't easy, it's an addictive game, especially when you get in with a group that knows tactics.
Hopefully the next company to take a crack at it will do better. I quit believing in CRS' "Soon..." bullshit a while ago.
