Sorry.

No need for that. I got a good laugh out of being called a Socialist.

Yeah, because Big Corporations (that provide tons of jobs) are ALWAYS Evil and ALWAYS Wrong. Gotta love Socialists.

So, you think all the money that NCSoft sunk in to that TURD that Garriot shit out, called "Tabula Rasa" was worth the investment?

I think NCSoft got f**ked in the ass. Granted, the MMO space is a big risk, but all those extra years of development time and money spent for the result they got... something stinks.

But hey, they're "Evil" anyway, so no biggie... right?

You need to upgrade your Sarcasm Decoder Chip, it's dropping packets hardcore.

I'm poking fun at the traditional position of "Blue's News Commenters" of instantly throwing the corporation to the wolves in any confrontation, except when it turns out their blind rage burns hotter for the "little guy", in this case Garriott.

anything you monkeys do

That's funny how you have over 3000 posts here, but you're trying to separate yourself from the "Doomsday Pack". Good luck on that

Ok wait, need to clarify. We hate Garriott more, so we're blindly rooting for the big eeeeevil corporation this time around, right?

Just checking.

Do they seriously think people are gonna pay $15 for a 17 year old game?

That you can get on Steam for $5 or less?

I kinda wish I could migrate my already-bought MMOs to steam and have a handy-dandy all-in-one client/updater instead of having lots of different installers to keep track of.

Oh well. Can't afford a sub right now anyway, Runes of Magic ftw.

11. Re: Shadowbane Closing Apr 19, 2009, 17:01 Mead

Yeah, I don't plan on playing UO, EQ, AC, DAoC, AO, or any of the other Great Old MMOs, but I sure don't regret paying retail price for any of them.

Now, if a MMO came out, cost $50, then closed after two months, yeah, I'd probably be fookin pissed if I'd bought it.

Kinda makes me glad I never got into the Shadowbane beta. Missed the forum account creation cutoff date by less than 2 hours.

There was one similar to this, about 10-12 years ago. I remember beta-testing it, not sure if it was ever released. Fly a ufo around picking up cattle and avoiding the farmer with his shotgun. Can't remember the name though.

I'm having fun with this one, it seems to be well written, and while it's still pretty much a stock MMO, it's fairly high quality for being free-to-play.

It doesn't feel like the Oblivion engine, always felt to me like an upgraded DAoC engine.

Not a good sign. I like the game world, but the strategic part of the war could use some work. Also the tactical. Okay, the whole thing aside from the backstory, really.

10. Re: Happy Birthday DDO Feb 28, 2009, 06:49 Mead

Alright I need to call people on this. I've played a lot of MMOs. Of all of them WOW is actually the only that ACCELERATES you reaching the level cap. This is done by combining high quest XP with lowered total XP-to-level.

WoW is not the only MMO to have done that. You can zip through the once-hellish low and mid levels in EQ, and City of Heroes has made it considerably easier to get to 50. Oh, and lets not forget Dark Age of Camelot, what's the command, "/level"? Gives you 20 levels of xp instantly.

There's probably other examples too.
