Show me where I said PC games do not support 5.1?
I have the Pro Media 4.1 analog sound system for my PC. It shakes the windows, but it doesn't touch my home theater. As for whether or not I'm a true hard core PC gamer, I guess you'll never know, but I play and compare every PC and Xbox game that I can afford.

You're off a bit on your hypothesis. X-box output is game dependant. The Xbox is capable of output up to 1024i and many titles come with 480p which when displayed into a digital tv, progressive display is light years beyond a 480i (i for interlaced) which is your standard analog TV display.
I love my Xbox, and who wouldn't if they had my system. 42" Toshiba digital TV with 400 watts per chanel receiver, optical DTS and Dolby 5.1 audio with every game via the Monster component / optical cable ($100 retail.) It's serious gaming for the serious gamer, and I have been a hard core PC gamer from the late 80's, still am actually.
To bash the Xbox just because it's from MS is not only idiotic, it's absurd.

If MS is an eight billion and Valve is nine (LOL!) than I guess that makes id, a 20 billion pound gorilla?
With DooM 3 on the box, I don't think MS is losing sleep over HL2. But, like I said, HL2 will be on the Xbox. Why that pisses PC gamers off so much is beyond me, or is the truth that the so-called PC gamers are really PS2 fanboys who are pissed that their console is out of date? Hmmm.

I get a laugh out of MS bashers who bash away from their MS PC and send email to mommy from their MS email client.
I have a feeling HL-2 will be on X-Box, Valve just isn't ready for the announcement. There will be no exclusivity. It will be similar to Splinter Cell, PS2 will get it, but it will look and play like ass.
Those who bash Halo, never played Halo.
