Tons of games work great in 3D (pretty much all rpg's with 3D graphics), and people are uber-happy over how well 3D works in Skyrim over on the 3D Vision forum. Especially considering there was no official support.
I'm picking up the game next week, otherwise Id comment on how good it is. |

Echoing what's being said here: I don't like just getting handed a ton of credits outright, and I hope all these items are integrated *into* the game.
Having said that, I've noticed most DLC in games is either given to you straight up, or there's VERY SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS on how to get to it.. because they don't want people calling in, "HAY... I GAVED U MONEE ND I DONT HAV NUTHING.. RIPOFF!"
...which sucks |

NIN, they take the server down between "builds" of the client. It's normal. The new client just came out yesterday and as far as I know the server's up (I haven't d/l'ed the new client yet).
Nothing unusual going on with the beta, they've done this a bunch of times. |

This game so far is only in AMD's HD3D, but there's two hacks for NVIDIA's 3D. The first uses the 3D profile for Resident Evil 5 which works decently. There's some lighting effects that don't look right due to deferred lighting. The other method is a wrapper someone made that lets the HD3D run on NVIDIA cards. There's no way to enable SLI with it (on the AMD side they have to turn of Crossfire as is), and the 3D is awful. It's worse than Crysis 2.. the hud is close, everything else is back but nearly 2D.
I'm *really* hoping they don't lock depth and convergence for NVIDIA, I seriously doubt it though.
I've got enough other games that I've been able to mostly hold off till the 3D's working. Very glad to hear there's official support for it coming soon. |

| The Breaking Bad advertising's been in for more than that... this week a copy of it was sitting on a shelf at the top of a pile of games during the fight scene. |

Drayth wrote on Sep 8, 2011, 17:52: Gotta admit.. I dislike seeing Blue's dip into tabloid headlines, but whatever. I'm always interested in opinions on editorial policy. First I'll assume by headlines, you mean the story itself, as
"Dead Island Maker Gives Leading Lady A 'Feminist Whore' Skill" Seems pretty tabloid, but
"Dead Island 'Private Joke' Goes Public" Does not, though maybe I'm not objective.
Presuming I'm correct about that, does that mean in your opinion I should have ignored this altogether? Yes, I wasn't criticizing the actual headline, but instead the topic. Hence my "Film at 11" to emphasize I'm talking about the subject itself.
Yes, it was dumb of the developers to put what they did in the actual code, even if it wasn't mean to be released to the public.. but this is just office humor (and the fact that it happened probably means they have a loose / possibly fun work environment).
Making this a major headline does nothing good for the developer, and just draws the ire of overly sensitive / armchair critical types towards them.
Now if you want to post this as news, go ahead.. I'm just expressing my opinion that I find this attention grabbing / substance lacking type news to be the equivalent of "Tom Cruise crashes random party. Ends up a total cock block! Turn to page 3!!", or something you'd see on Fox news like their bit on ME being a porn simulator. |

Darks wrote on Aug 29, 2011, 17:31: Got to agree with these comments. Also btw, you do know that you can turn off the auto pausing for the combat right? I turned it off and had a much better time playing the game and it was a lot more fun without the constant pausing. I think he just meant how you could hit space to pause combat at anytime in KOTOR. I doubt anyone left the auto-pause per round on. |

Well I enjoyed WoW to begin with, and I'm not saying it's just like WoW in every respect.. but if that's not your kind of gig, then yeah.. this game might not be your thing.
If you enjoyed WoW or other similar MMO's *at all* you should definitely give it a look. (Sorry I can't say more)
I still have an eye on Guild Wars 2 as well, but since that doesn't have a monthly sub it's no sweat having both. They're each going to offer great things in their own ways, imo. |
