News Comments > New NVIDIA Reference Drivers

Fallout 3 would hitch for me when ever I turned my gaze in different directions. Like looking up to the sky then back down there would be a noticeable hitch. In Megaton it was unbearable. This has been with all the 190 drivers so far, I'll give these a shot.

To the guy below.. careful with the seagate 1tb's. Yeah they're dirt cheap, but mine died in less then a week. When I checked newegg it sounded like that model had about a 50/50 chance of surviving a year. I swapped it for a hitachi.. cost a little more, but working beautifully.

Only thing I miss from BG is when you killed something, the exact inventory of what it was using against you dropped. I like systems that make more logical sense over "game'isms". They use a much more NWN'ish loot drop system instead for the encounters.

Portal is the most annoying pile of shit I have ever played. It reminds me of Diakantanna in it annoyance factor.

I'm pretty tolerant of what types of games are good being a very subjective thing.. but that one's just epic. I can understand not liking Portal... as in you probably only like games that have flamethrowers and / or chainsaws.. but Daikatana?

Other then this thread, the only other place I've heard about load times increasing over time is from a developer saying it'll happen if you alt-tab a number of times.

I've played this game for long stretches with no performance or crash issues.

Why do they always say 12:01? The day changes at 12:00.

That's because of the high ping.

You just have to come to terms with the fact that there's more sand and vagina at BluesNews then the entire coastline of Sweden. Once you're at peace with this fact, only then should you attempt to communicate with the tribe.

I also prefer the image quality of ATI over nVidia, but that's what you get for slightly lower performance. So, yes, you do get what you pay for. If ATI used low-quality algorithms as well, there would be no dispute as to who the graphics king was.

Well ATI only just NOW crept ahead of nvidia with their newest line of cards in terms of image quality (though, ATI was once ahead a very long time ago). Before this line of cads their AF filtering was slightly worse then nvidia's, actually. Now if nvidia doesn't respond with a fully angle-independent AF, then yes they've dropped the ball completely vs ATI.

But yes, nvidia's drivers as of late have really boosted speed in some games, but... stuttering in Fallout 3? Gah! Some people are saying that's fixed now though, I haven't tried the latest beta's yet.

PC Accelerator was the best freaking gaming mag ever. I love how they would get drunk to review racing games. They also literally copy and pasted one review of Tomb Raider whatever for the next one in the series, and just crossed out and wrote in the new roman numeral.
