Just finished a beautiful spring Monday, one year on from the start of the quakes which kicked off a year ago with a 7.1.
Still having aftershocks but much less frequent. |

There is one other number as interesting as the magnitude of a quake & thats the depth, you guys had a very shallow quake. A 5.0 at 40km deep can be pretty insignificant, the ground condition also makes a huge difference. Our worst quake was only 6.8 but it was shallow close & got a serious vibration on as it travelled under a band of volcanic hills that surround the city. Our city is built on old ancient river beds & swamp land, so factor in all that & it was one devastating 6.8.

If you ever get a serious quake drop & get under a solid table, it will pass. Many of our casualties freaked by the noise, action & shit flying around ran outside some with kids only for balconies to drop on them, the building they ran from still stood.

I'm probably in the vast minority of people that didn't like Quake 2. Didn't care for the Strogg thing AT ALL.
All I will say is quake 2 CTF some of those big out door maps (what was the one with the cave you had to pass through?) running, bunny hopping as fast as you can with rockets zipping past & the whole other side in chase. I used to love exiting a building into a big open area with people in chase then seeing team mates going the other way then realise you have the flag & do everything they can for you. The slightly slower speed of the game made that incredible, now days the flag goes & you have very little chance to chase them down. |

Snow day here, have a couple of feet of it outside.
May even go another two days. 
Most snow to hit at sea level in one Winter in these parts. |
