I don't think "most" of the initial money was raised with Kickstarter. By the time the Kickstarter ended, they had earned $6 million, and only $2.1 million of that came from the Kickstarter.

This is a really great mod. It more or less captures the joys of playing The Specialists back in the Half-Life 1 days. It has a nice little community of players too. Can't recommend it enough. Once it gets on Steam I hope it'll get even more popular.

The irony joke sucks. Person 1 demonstrates they don't understand irony. Standing at bus stops is not ironic.
That's the joke...

This is like a parody of bad video game trailers. Someone really likes this song but couldn't figure out how to make it fit with a trailer so they just told the animators "just like, put a bunch of characters in and make them shoot at stuff." Not to mention it doesn't tell us anything about the game, but then again, asking for a trailer to tell us anything is probably a lost hope by now.

They've made some impressive improvements to the game engine but does anyone know if they've addressed the balance problems?

Of all the servers that run NS2Stats, the win rate is 54% aliens 46% Marines, which isn't so bad.

I like how they used the wrong "it's." I guess the game budget doesn't provide for a proofreader.

I don't know how you can really steal an engine. You'd get sued into oblivion the moment you tried to publish your game.

Why is it not Star Noir
Oh man, careful, don't let the developers see this. If I noticed this late in development that there was a name for my game that was this much better than the one I've chosen I'd be really sad.

On the plus side, now some day I can make Star Noir.

What are the odds that the chariots 'drive' the same way as 99% of all racing games do, ie, you control a square brick that pivots around a single point in the exact middle?
Pretty low...

Yeah, I don't really want to beta test a single player RPG. I don't replay those enough to want to slog through it once when it's still unfinished.

I lost over 70k in a single game. That was the last straw for me. It was my best game yet in bf4. Game over for me.
I think it's interesting that you'd describe your best game as the one where you got a lot of XP, and get mad over losing the XP, rather than describe your best game as the one where you had the most fun (and no server crash can take that from you). I think it's sad that gamers these days play Battlefield games to unlock guns and earn XP instead of to do the thing that has made the series great since BF 1942, which didn't have any unlocks.

EA does it again: 50% off (FIFTY PERCENT OFF!) Call of Doody: Black Cops II! That makes it ONLY 35 Euros (~$47) over here. WOW, now that's what I call a helluvaprice! Way to go, EA! Dunce

Now for some real bargain: Shadow Warrior (2013) is dirt cheap at the moment! Who wanta some Wang?

Call of Doody is published by Activision not EA
I don't think there are any newer EA games on Steam
Ssshhhh you'll get in the way of the baseless EA hatefest.

Enemy took the center? Let me guess, round focused MMO where you grind credits and experience to unlock better ships/gear in retarded arena combat scenarios. Well they can take their World of Tanks in Space and shove it where the sun dont shine. Motherfuckers.
Uh, what? I have seen nothing to suggest this is an MMO. The fact that they're giving away keys suggests it's just a normal commerical multiplayer game.

I really like Project Reality 2 - I haven't played a ton of it, but back when I did play it, it was really great. One of my favorite realistic shooters. It's a lot like a stripped down ArmA. I'm definitely looking forward to this.

The performance was abysmal

Primary reason I stopped playing after only a few weeks. You CANNOT suffer framerate issues in a game this focused on precision aiming.

So this isn't just because the new expansion just released? Nmhhh.... anyway, for a First Impression this one was an epic fail. For me the non working Tutorial was worse, because the game seems to have become even more opaque for a new player.
No, performance was bad for a while, then it got better a few patches ago, then literally the day before this free weekend they released this new patch which DESTROYED performance. It's stupid and they're losing hundreds if not thousands of sales because of it. It's really sad. I love the game and I want it to succeed but they're shooting themselves in the foot and I don't know why.

Bought in at Shadow level - might've bought in at Onos level if it hadn't sold out immediately. I've been a fan of Natural Selection since before the original mod came out - that's more than a decade now. Yikes!

Nah, they just need a better search and browse system, including tabs.
Yeah, pretty much this. Steam already had tons of crap on it before Greenlight even existed (Bad Rats, anyone?). It just needs a way to sort through games better. Amazon.com sells a lot of crappy books but it's still a fine place to buy stuff. Steam needs curated storefronts that people can set up like they can set up lists of Greenlight games. That would help - find someone you trust, and check out what games they recommend.

This is practically guaranteed to come to PC eventually. In fact, every indie game on consoles will likely come out for PC.

Games like The Unfinished Swan would like a word with you.
