Just took a quick look at the news from Bluetower before my wife & I head out to drive 50 miles to visit my folks, and saw this. I've been bugged at my Dad lately, but will keep your thoughts with me today on the trip.

One of them moves his arms to align with the stripes on the wall. I guess that is as close to "mimicking a picture" as it comes in the article, I was expecting them to to mimic pictures... like of Mickey Mouse of something.
I went back and found the "Next" button after disabling Noscript. I see what you mean, lining up his arms with stripes on the wall is a stretch to say he is "mimicing pictures".

The only photo I saw showed the cuttlefish mimicing a physical object in the tank next to him. The mimic a picture claim is mentioned in the article, but I say with out a picture it didn't happen. |

I would call/e-mail Newegg and ask for the new (lower) price to be honored on your recent purchase of the same item. Granted they will most likely give the difference to you as store credit, but it's better than a poke in the eye.

Article fails to consider volcanic risk which makes the whole Cascade region a ticking time bomb, oh and let's not forget wild fire risk in areas like California.
It's odd I have lived in tornado alley all my life (enough decades to fill one hand) and have yet to see a tornado. Everyone else in my family has, some more than once, but not me. Probably means I am doomed to die watching one from the inside. |

But it's still fun reading about his efforts in the war against squirrels, or (another way) how he's aiding in the evolution / advancement of squirrel brains.
Millennium from now, when Squirrels are the dominant species, they'll have entire museums dedicated to man's "training devices" And they'll probably have a little plaque dedicated to "The Blue One"
