News Comments > Battlefield 4 Night Operations Released
4. Re: Battlefield 4 Night Operations Released Sep 2, 2015, 01:45 LOC

Don't get me wrong, I love the free content etc, and the lighting at "night" looks great and all.

But unless other maps included are actually at night, shouldn't this be called Dusk Operations or something? I figured it would be you know, darker.

Why was Sam Fisher in this trailer? Also, Kruger is a great bad guy name, not that that's ever been used before or anything...

Ah, I figured it wasn't optimized quite yet. Actually though, I already own the game. I'm just on a crap system at the moment and I don't think this rig can handle the game, even on low probably.

That being said, I'm glad the devs are doing so well with sales. Rocket League as well. Always good to see indie games do so good on Steam (or anywhere really) even if they aren't "indie" in the end.

Ark uses UE4 right? How optimized is it currently? (The game, not the engine lol)

pve or pvp focus?

Well I'm hardly far into the game to say for sure. But it seems PvE focused so far. However there is PvP in the game of course. It seems to be tied into the Prestige system (which is what is used to advance your character) like it is in PvE. It also unlocks mode for PvP. As far as I can find though, it's mainly an arena style WoW PvP system. I think. Don't quote me.

Having a god damn ball playing this. I mean, I've been following the game since it was announced, but only just started playing now that it's in open beta. And it's super fun to me. Combat feels GREAT. It looks and sounds AMAZING. The UI is actually good, and fits in with the lore/asthetic they are going for.

I mean, it's just good. I highly recommend if any of you are either MMO players in general, or ARPG fans, you should definitely try this game out for size.

I know everyone's got the torches lit and carting those pitchforks around...but this is Kotaku who's reporting it. That's like reading it in the tabloids.

Any real sources out there?

While I would agree with you most of the time about Kotaku - Patrick Klepeck did this story. He's done some major reporting work for Giantbomb and doesn't post rumors or speculation most of the time unless he can dig into it a bit more. Plus, it's pretty obvious WB knew about the problems before launch - even before this story came out.

100 bucks for a WoW knockoff? Ahahahahahaha!

Uh, how the hell is this game even remotely a WoW knockoff? Other than being an MMO, this is nothing like WoW.

Man, I wish they would remaster (port, whatever) Code Veronica to PC. Maybe even Dino Crisis to PC?

Maybe at the end of this one, they'll do a timeline reboot and start the next series of games off in WW2 again! I mean, time travel isn't so far fetched in this series anymore.

Hey Treyarch how about Call of Duty 3-2 huh? Criminally underrated CoD in my opinion. But hey, robots and explosions!

This could be the next RBR if done right. Super excited

Only problem is Milestone SUCKS. At least on PC they suck. Both WRC games they've put out recently, were fairly OK more or less - but online play was broken and never patched. Hell, for most players (like me) you registered for an account with them so you can upload scores and times etc and to play online and the damn thing FORGOT YOUR ACCOUNT every time you launched the game practically.

Not to mention the bugs which is besides the point.

Milestone may be competent enough to make a good racer (and they are good racers) but they have crappy QA or no one cares what they put out there.

Also, screw you Atari (or whatever the hell you are these days).

Minimum, Human Head's current game (on Steam) is an awesome game with a very unique visual style etc. Atari let them get out a few updates over the few months the game has been on EA. Now, the game is about dead. HH developers are obviously working on Lost Within now (and good for them) and a couple or so of the Minimum guys are going to work on the game in their free time to fix bugs and put out unreleased content etc.

So the game is pretty much dead. Thanks Atari, great job!

Er, dunno where you guys get news from sources wise, but I heard of Unturned plenty. Knew about it before it ever launched on Steam EA, when the developer basically redid the game's graphics (yes, he redid them lol) to make it look better than it did.

Also, for those of you who seem to hate F2P games with a passion - there are some F2P games done right out there. Path of Exile comes to mind first of course, but there are others. Tera is a great F2P game (and is coming to Steam soon-ish) as well.

It's a MOBA in spirit only. Action game more than anything. Also, really fun.

Also, I play it on Windows 8.1, so, there's that?

If you watch the 4+ minute long video on the Steam store page, the developers explain why the game was made (and why it's the way it is). Apparently Nina Freeman when she was 12 or so did something like this, and thus, the game was born?

But shit, the graphics are almost 8bit it'd be painful to play. What about the Monolith game..

It holds up quite nicely in the graphics department actually. One thing the Lithtech engine did right even back then was some pretty nice lighting and shadow effects. Sure they are basic and crap looking these days but in 1999/2000 they blew your mind. Also, holding that motion tracker and hearing it go off when you accidentally destroyed something in the environment thinking it was an alien coming for you - classic!

If so.. YES!
I hope the players got smart, didnt buy it.. and hit them right in the pocketbook (I like using old terms).

Here's to hoping that... wait, i bet the dummies still bought it hand over fist on the consoles, huh?

It's actually not a bad game...really. Also, Kevin Spacey.

It's actually a very well done little game. It's quite fun, and the MOBA stuff isn't really a thing (yet) to worry about until you PVP obviously. They have a really good tutorial leading you into some PvE matches and then PvP finally. Graphics are great, sound design is quite good. Gameplay is pretty good as well. Overall, it's worth playing to pass some time. And you might have fun as well

Oh god, can I get that alpha code then sir? I really hate begging for keys and such, but there's just something about this game that really gets me excited. Plus you know, I alpha/beta test so much , it's just a way of doing things I'm used to for me.
