Hmm I had no problems with or without the patch on both my lower end gaming PC and on my athlon 64 machine. Guess I'm just being lucky again... 
Having to suggest a downgrade is pretty embarrassing though... |

| As a big Star Wars fan it will be tempting to see Battlefront II on shelves but I gotta resist. I would return to Battlefield 2 a few weeks after purchase anyway... |

| I have had no problems with the game so far and had a blast playing it. I played it on 2 different machines, one of them just about meets the minimum requirements. No crashes, no lag. Playing on a dsl connection, though not on ranked servers. Primarily public german clan servers. |

| The retail version has WAY superior maps, my favorite is the Moghadishu inspired map. Still, if you are bored with the whole concept of Battlefield even the best maps cant convince you. |

| To hell with the editing tools I'm having a blast with this game. The Moghadishu inspired map alone is worth the money. I'm playing it on my second pc that is just above the min requirements and although I have to play on low settings it's extremely playable. |

| Pretty bad article. They set up a PCI-E system with an ultra high end AMD X2 - 4800+ Dual core CPU and compared it to AGP cards running on an Athlon XP 2600, so dont be surprised if you see a 6800 card fall way behind a radeon x800 - the 6800 is running on the agp system and the x800 on the Dual core cpu. Pretty useless if you ask me. |

BF2 easily satisfies all my multiplayer gaming needs. Actually it made me return to my PC as a gaming machine since I was stuck with Ninja Gaiden, DOA2 Ultimate and Burnout 3 on my xbox (I just got into this console thing).

I've found teamwork happening, partially due to the nice system.
The problem is that on most servers I played on, people just wouldnt join squads, therefore the commander couldnt coordinate anything. On a few occasions it did work fine though. That said, I love the game and I can't wait for the retail version. Oh and performance is pretty good for me on my 9800 pro athlon 64 3000+. 5.3 drivers... |
