| Just playing through this for the first time. Wanted to play this for years but other things kept me busy, so I got it for 9 bucks. I immediately installed the fan patch so I don't know what the game looks like without it but as it is now it's a damn masterpiece, like every Troika title was. |

| Been playing WoW trial and Dungeons & Dragons online Trial. Having played UO,EQ, DaoC and EVE I can now tell you that DDO is the best MMORPG for me. You see, I don't like running around for hours and killing the same monsters over and over again. I like good quests and DDO gives me fine quests and excellent dungeon atmosphere. Now I don't know if it's worth the 15 bucks a month since it's basically one big city with instanced dungeons but somehow this game did it for me. |

Currently playing 14 day trial (they gave away trial discs in university) - played UO, EQ, DAOC, EVE.
I see why WOW is such a success. User friendly, tons of content, runs on every shitty pc.

| Well I ran it on my 8600gs santa rosa laptop. Didn't expect great things but it ran like shit even on 800*600 and low. Then I realized it was using dx10. On dx9 it ran pretty good even on a higher resolution and medium settings. Might consider buying it now - the game itself is great fun. |

Would someone please tell me what's so great about TF2. I played every major multiplayer game since Quake 1 and TF2 just feels like a step backwards. Too confined, too crowded, too simple. I really tried to get into it but it didnt work out. UT3 is just more of exactly the same thing, also no evolution here. Quake Wars on the other hand didn't let me go - exactly the right balance between fast paced fragging and tactical gameplay. Never a dull moment there once you actually pay attention to the on screen advice the game is giving you.
Now people here are flaming the game because there aren't as much players as in TF2 or because it's too complicated - that's just retarded.
Now to my initial question. Please tell me why TF2 is so great. |

Since when was no-respawn deathmatch the be-all and end-all of MP experieces? I don't like round based team deathmatch either but in Gears of War it didn't bother me at all since the action is usually pretty fast and you don't have to sit idle for a long time. |

Halo 3 really is that generic, I agree, but the GoW single player campaign wasn't that bad (too short, yes). IMHO it did a good job of drawing you into that post-apocalyptic world.

Actually I enjoyed the multiplayer on the 360 very much. A nice balance between tactical gameplay and fast fragging. The fact that it's round based isn't all that bad - usually rounds don't go very long  |

Well actually I thought the CGI intro was pretty good, if there's more of it in the game and if there's a decent story it might still be okay.

| Quake Wars comes with no copy protection at all, that's the way I like it. World in Conflict makes me download a no-cd crack though.... |

Gone are the days of lower resolution = more speed. So you're saying that's a good thing? I tried it on my laptop mit 8600gs graphics and didnt expect great things. I ran it on 800*600 with medium textures and world details, it was okay but still not 100% smooth. Just for the fun of it I cranked everything up to Max on 1280x800 and I was surprised that it was still playable and looked awesome. But there seems to be no setting where I can run the game as smooth as Quake Wars for example (which runs fine on med-max details).
